22.01.2022 Hi everyone, we need some help, please action & pass on! Rgds John Hello Ballarat International Foto Biennale Supporters, Thank you for all the wonderful support you have already given us on this project. We're not quite there yet with one more day to go!!!! ... The final surge of voting has unfortunately dropped us back to 3rd place today, after weeks of being in the top 2 projects in the Culture Section. This $10,000 local project grant is for our education program - BIFB Kids at our 2013 Festival. It is ONLY the top two projects in each category (with the most votes on Bank of Melbourne's Facebook Page) that will receive the grant. We to use the grant for a terrific education program for schools that we are currently developing, but we can only do so with your help!!!! Go to: http://webapps.bankofmelbourne.com.au/thelocalproject/ You'll need to 'like' the Bank of Melbourne's page first before it lets you vote. NOTE: We have also discovered that if you are NOT a Victorian resident and you want to vote, all you have to do is NOT include your address when you sign on to vote. So if you didn't vote before because of this....PLEASE TRY AGAIN! Also if you are feeling really keen (this is particularly for those based in Ballarat) you can call into your local Bank of Melbourne branch and request a code to VOTE AGAIN!!!! Every little bit will help to get us across the line at this stage. Kind regards, Liz Cummins Festival Office Manager Ballarat International Foto Biennale Member Festival: www.festivaloflight.net Member Festival: www.asiapacificphotoforum.org

22.01.2022 How much does it cost to Smile? But its so valuable... Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other -- it doesn't matter who it is -- and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other. Mother Teresa of Calcutta quote

20.01.2022 What a wedding day! Heavy rain with beautiful lighting between cloud bursts. Petra bought some cowboy boots as well as the hi heels. Great move. Williamstown has always given me great potential for photos but I had to draw on some hidden locations to avoid the rain.

12.01.2022 The opening of the Forest Threads Textile Art exhibition went really well Yvonne Line (my sis) came from Sydney to view her 3 works in the exhibition and there are 41 artworks in total. Its on at the Whitehorse Art Space at the Box Hill Town Hall till 21 Dec 2011. Its the inaugural Forest Threads exhibition organized by the The Australian Quilters Association and the creative range of works that are I would loosely term quilts are amazing!

11.01.2022 We have had a great response from the you about how appealing the Italian works are. Over 170 people have been thru so far with a few of the more powerful boat images being purchased. The Artworks are only available for viewing & sale at the Ballarat Biennale as we have other projects on afterwards. We would like to thank Alexandria on Lydiard for donating this space for our exhibition. (By not charging a commission we have passed that reduction onto you.)... We have been getting around the other exhibitions and the range of creative ideas are terrific. Very exciting & inspiring festival! Rgds John

09.01.2022 We are very excited by being chosen as a finalist for The Fringe Prize. The Fringe Prize is awarded to one solo exhibition and sponsors their trip to the Paris Photo Portfolio Reviews in November 2011. A very prestigious event. We were one of 16 finalists and were at the presentation in Ballarat on Monday. Congratulations to Ewen Bell who has been chosen to fly the BIFB Fringe flag in Paris Photo Portfolio Reviews in November, courtesy of the Copyright Agency Limited Cultural Fund. Ewen’s exhibition is ‘The Elephant Camp’. Well done Ewen Bell, this can be seen at Gallary 806.
