25.01.2022 Australia condemns the cowardly terrorist attack in Vienna. I've been in contact with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and provided Australia's condolences, a...nd our assurance that we stand with the people of Austria against these acts of terror. This remains an ongoing situation and it's important that everyone do everything they can to stay safe. For Australians who are in Austria, I urge you to follow the instructions of local authorities. For those in Australia you can stay updated through the Smartraveller website.

25.01.2022 Happy Diwali 2020!

24.01.2022 Great to see Victoria opening up. Well done and thank you to all Victorians for your patience and perseverance. Looking forward to further steps being taken in the weeks ahead.

22.01.2022 Welcome to Kooyong, PM Scott Morrison (ScoMo)! We dropped by Upwell Health Collective - Physio & Pilates Camberwell to meet owners, Matthew & Catherine, & have a look around their impressive clinic offering a range of holistic health services for our local community. #JobKeeper enabled Matthew and Catherine to retain their staff & they have now begun, as Catherine says, rebuilding.... Small businesses in Melbourne have done it very tough over the past few months. It’s fantastic to see businesses like Upwell opening their doors again & their local communities continuing to support them.

21.01.2022 #LIVE: Press conference from Parliament House, Canberra.

19.01.2022 101 years old, Sergeant Bert Le-Merton has walked over 107km to raise over $86,000 so far for veteran support charity Soldier On. What an absolute legend! I sp...oke to Bert earlier this week to congratulate him on his amazing efforts and also to wish him a happy 102nd birthday for next Wednesday. Bert, who lives in Western Sydney, served for Australia in North Africa and the Pacific during the Second World War. He wanted to help the younger generation of veterans because he’d seen how some of them had struggled to adapt back to life after service. On Victory in Pacific Day in August this year he set himself the challenge of walking the length of the Kokoda Track (96km) to raise money for Soldier On. He did this by walking around the block every day with his walker. Initially he hoped to raise $10,000 but he quickly smashed that target. How good would it be if he could smash his next target of raising $102,000 before his 102nd birthday on Wednesday. He’s had to pause his walking for a bit while he recovers from a leg injury but hopes to be back at it again soon and we wish him a speedy recovery. If you’d like to donate to help Bert reach his target and support our veterans visit: https://fundraise.soldieron.org.au/marchonwithbert

19.01.2022 #LIVE: Update after today's National Cabinet Meeting

17.01.2022 Australia’s economic recovery is well and truly underway. Over the last four months, 446,000 jobs have been created and consumer confidence is up for the eighth consecutive week, back to where it was in early March. Business conditions are up too, with a 22% increase in the September quarter. Importantly, Australia’s AAA credit rating has been reaffirmed and we’re just one of nine countries to have a AAA credit rating from the three leading agencies. As the Prime Minister Sco...tt Morrison (ScoMo) said, it’s fantastic that Melbourne has started opening up again. Victorians should be incredibly proud of their sacrifice, dedication and hard-work over the past few months in driving down #COVID19 cases. Our Government will continue to do everything possible to help families and businesses get to the other side of the COVID-19 crisis.

17.01.2022 A wonderful morning in Dingley Village announcing $15 million for Hawthorn Football Club’s Kennedy Community Centre. The KCC will provide much needed-community facilities for local sporting clubs, including women’s sport, across Melbourne’s south east. | Michael McCormack MP | Gladys Liu MP |

17.01.2022 Welcome back Victoria! Great news overnight as the border between NSW and Victoria reopened to everyone after 137 days. I know a lot of families and loved ones ...have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Also well done Victoria on recording the 24th day in a row today of zero new cases of community transmission. NSW also recorded its 16th straight day today. These are great steps towards COVID normal, but now is not the time to be complacent. We all need to keep doing our bit and keep being COVIDSafe.

16.01.2022 #JobKeeper has had an incredible impact in helping to keep businesses in business & Australians in jobs, supporting around 900,000 businesses & more than 3.5 million jobs. Our Government’s Economic Recovery Plan is creating more jobs, boosting our economic recovery & securing Australia’s future.

15.01.2022 So sad to hear about the passing of Dr Bruce Reid. You couldn’t find a more decent, caring and authentic guy. My thoughts are with Judy and the family. Rest In Peace, my friend.

14.01.2022 The Victorian people have been magnificent. The sacrifice, dedication & hard-work of more than 6 million Victorians in driving down #COVID19 case numbers is their victory. The Morrison Government will continue to support Victorians as we get to the other side.

14.01.2022 Nothing beats a coffee from a local cafe at home after a very busy week in Parliament! Absolutely wonderful to see the streets of Melbourne coming back to life & the community supporting their local small businesses who are still doing it tough. Thanks Dan & team at Nigel Incredible Coffee for the fantastic coffee, as always.

13.01.2022 With so many families and businesses affected by the Victorian lockdown which has seen the loss of more than 1,000 jobs per day, we strongly encourage the Victorian Government to reopen in a COVIDsafe way. My statement with Scott Morrison (ScoMo) & Greg Hunt MP

13.01.2022 The RBA has confirmed #JobKeeper saved at least 700,000 jobs, stating overall employment losses would have been twice as large over the first half of 2020 without JobKeeper. Australia’s economic recovery is underway. More

10.01.2022 Yesterday I joined a joint call of 'Five Eyes' Finance Ministers hosted by Rishi Sunak. We discussed our COVID-19 economic support measures & the steps we’ve taken to protect, create and support jobs. More

09.01.2022 Well said, Simon Birmingham. By promoting free trade, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership will help create more jobs in Australia and across our partner nations.

06.01.2022 A pleasure to join my friend, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Indonesia’s Minister of Finance, for the signing of a bilateral loan agreement. The Australian Government will provide a AU$1.5 billion loan to Indonesia to support their #COVID management & economic recovery programmes.

05.01.2022 14 days straight of no new #COVID19 cases in Victoria and another day of zero locally acquired cases across Australia. That makes 5 out of 7 days of no communit...y transmission cases in Australia. Well done to everyone and thank you for all your efforts! However, we must stay vigilant so please keep being #COVIDSafe and if you have any symptoms at all, get tested and isolate until you get the results. We need to ensure we reopen safely and stay safely open.

04.01.2022 Outstanding achievement by Kooyong local, Professor Mark Dawson, clinician-scientist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, who has received the 2020 Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year. I spoke with Professor Dawson this evening over Zoom to congratulate him. The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science are Australia’s most prestigious and highly regarded award, with Professor Dawson receiving the Frank Fenner Prize for his world-leading research in translational med...icine and clinical trials in cancer therapeutics. Professor Dawson has delivered novel, independent, first-in-class therapies, which laid the foundation for over 30 clinical trials in more than 20 countries, with these new drugs establishing a field of research relevant to a range of diseases beyond cancer. Incredible people such as Professor Dawson better lives and livelihoods, not only here in Australia, but globally. The Federal Government is supporting the world class work of our clinicians with an investment of $20 billion in lifesaving medical research through its Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

04.01.2022 Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks was a man of deep compassion who earned the respect of millions. His message was universal; love not hate, tolerance not ignorance, hope not despair. As Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the Archbishop of Westminster, said: I have lost a friend; the Jewish community a great leader; humanity an eloquent spokesman. May he Rest In Peace.

02.01.2022 Today’s announcement by the RBA to cut the cash rate is good news for Australian households & small businesses. The RBA made it very clear their move today complements the economic support the Morrison Government has provided the Australian economy.

01.01.2022 The Federal Government welcomes today’s announcement to start reopening the Victorian economy in a COVIDsafe way. It’s been a long & difficult lockdown for Victorians & today’s announcement is good news. My joint statement with Scott Morrison (ScoMo) & Greg Hunt MP
