11.01.2022 How many times do you handle a piece of paper when it comes into your office? If it's more than once you're doing it wrong. You can enter your invoice into your accounting package, set it to pay on the correct day in your online banking, file it. Done. Handled once and paid on time without sticky notes, calendar entries or looking at invoices every day to see what needs paid.

08.01.2022 Recently on LinkedIn there had been some debate around a comment "I don't need a bookkeeper, the wife does it." On Friday I was checking through some entries made by my client's wife (before I started helping) and found that although the entries for the repayments of the insurance funding were being entered the original invoice had not. This meant they were missing out on two things, one was the $3,500 GST they had not claimed, the other was the insurance expense on their P&...L. Yes, some wives can do the data entry, but unless they understand bookkeeping they may miss claims that they could make. Have you missed anything important in your bookkeeping? How will you know that it has been missed?

04.01.2022 When you do your bookkeeping, why do you do it? Of course you need to be compliant with taxation law it there is much more than that. Your cash books show you: How much money you have right now How much your debtors owe you... How much you owe your creditors This allows a cash flow projection to be completed to highlight where cash shortages may occur. Without this you are driving in the dark without headlights, you cannot see where you are going. If you want to be able to see where your business is going private message me and we can discuss what you need to do.
