17.01.2022 Earthworms congregating on the soil surface near an irrigation lateral blowout at our old almond orchard. Not certain whether the soil became too wet, and the localised worms were searching for more oxygen at the surface; or they were drawn towards the extra moisture from further afield. Either way, there must have been plenty in the soil to begin with! Amazing what images we find when searching through images on an old phone, and a reassuring sign that maybe we were doing something right.
