25.01.2022 Mindful Monday Do you feel like you’ve got one foot in the I’m ok to keep going while the other foot is in the I’m really feeling tired, close to burnout and really need a break camp ? It’s ok if you’re feeling tired . Sometimes it’s a fine line between both camps. I want you to acknowledge this and then take some action for reset. Even if just for an hour (if you can’t block out more time that’s ok but promise me you’ll secure some more soon in your diary). W...e are responsible for noticing our limits and creating boundaries for self care. Just like the ploughed area of this paddock creates a boundary so that the fire cannot burn the other paddock and the hay nearby. Of course, we can always call in the water tanker if needed to put out spot fires but it’s much easier if we just set these boundaries from the start. Ps: A new community is coming soon just for you. Thinking too far ahead and trying to work out exactly how things will be maintains anxiety. None of us can be sure of what the future holds. However, if we keep focused in the here and how and remind ourselves of our coping skills and internal resources, this will assist us to manage anything life might throw at us. Please give yourself some credit that you can cope and be ok. Look at what you’ve coped with already in life. You’ve got RPL credits in managing uncertainty just from living through 2020 and a global pandemic!!!Trust the process. The rest will take care of itself. #trusttheprocess #wednesdaywisdom

12.01.2022 2020 A year like no other A message from the (virtual desk) of Director/Clinical Psychologist, Rachael Willis. As I sit down to write this piece and reflect on the past 9 months (since we shifted the practice 100% online and provided telehealth services plus online programs and webinars), two words come to mind. Perseverance and Passion If you told me all of things that I’d have to do in order keep our doors open and to keep the practice ticking along to serve the commu...nity plus also maintain peoples jobs and adjust to many changes (every day) while living through the shared trauma of a pandemic (alongside my clients), I could have easily decided to close the doors and walk away. However, I didn't walk away. I wasn't going to allow this invisible enemy to make that decision for my clients or for me. My passion for helping others and my perseverance emerged higher than ever and I saw this in the people I worked with. Day by day, week by week, we all became stronger. Sure there were moments when I felt like crying (and did cry), there were moments when I was scared and other moments when I so frustrated and angry with the whole situation. However, my passion and perseverance kept coming up ontop and for this I am grateful. It's been an absolute pleasure working with a range of people this year and working remotely via telehealth both from my office and even in the paddock. I can't wait to see people back in the office and paddock again in 2021 (as we will be taking a break from 20th Dec and back on deck end of Jan 2021).
