Your home is one of your biggest assets - it's important to make sure that you're getting value for money, but also a great quality home or renovation. Cheap often doesn't equal quality.... When you receive quotes from multiple builders, like most people, the first thing you might consider is the price. But does this really tell the whole story? The main things you need to consider when comparing building quotes includes: Read your quote fully and don’t just compare prices Look at the list of inclusions and highlight any differences Review the standard of finishes Quality of products supplied Does the quote provide realistic timelines? Realistic PS and PC (provisional sum and prime cost) items Fixed price labour compared to allowances The process to correct any defect issues Every builder provides different inclusions as standard, so you should create your list of ‘must-haves’ and ‘would-love-to-haves’. Then take the time to compare your quotes ‘apples for apples’. Doing so when you are first starting on your building journey can save you a lot of money and time in the long run. 19.01.2022 { FLORENCE } Working on this quaint little colonial 1920s cottage was an honour. The family out grew their little cottage and we helped them bring their dreams to life with a stunning renovation, which saw the size of the home more than double.... The renovation added size, comfort and modern touches that remained in line with its history and heritage. All the traditional VJ walls and ceilings were maintained, including the pine floors throughout. This home underwent a huge transformation, going from a tiny cottage to a beautiful colonial home and surprised all involved. Renovating 'Florence' has been a fabulous project to work on and it was made even easier working with an amazing client, who was fun and very easy to deal with. Thank you for trusting us with your beautiful dream.
