24.01.2022 Another day, another switchboard. Just because you see a safety switch in your switchboard, dont assume every circuit is safe. Most switchboards over 10 years old still do not have an RCD (safety switch) on the light circuits. Always turn off the main switch if you have doubts before changing suspect light bulbs. ... This old board had a safety circuit on the power but not the lighting! This provided a great amount of extra storage space and allows us to keep the workshop nice and tidy. 14.01.2022 As en electrical contractor, we have many over heads, And pricing our work to maintain profit and stay competitive is a consistent battle. We constantly see substandard work, and as a contractor who has worked in multiple states of our lovely country, QLD can be a scary place to work. In QLD, electrical work is 'Self Assessed'. No governing body inspects our work. I disagree with this as it does not encourage quality work. It benefits those happy to cut corners and complete ...a job as cheap as possible. If you have a job and are getting electrical quotes. keep this in mind. The Cheapest is often cheaper for a reason. But its good to see some dodgy buggers get caught.

The kids truly love it, and I must say, it has been an absolute honour to be involved in such an important initiative.

08.01.2022 A medical clinic in South Bank had been struggling with the wrong type of suspended downlights over their desk for years. We recently removed the two fittings and replaced it with a Single Linear Led fitting from Brightgreen These lights are much more useful and have a better ambient light output. We had the horrible task of cleaning up a switchboard left incomplete, and in a mess by another electrical firm. ... 01.01.2022 Submersible lights for ponds and water features are not cheap! But sometimes choosing the cheaper option is not always the best option. These black powder-coated fittings were eaten alive in a water feature with high calcium build up. If you want to avoid this issue, we recommend stainless steel as a safe bet for long-lasting submersible fittings that are less susceptible to rust and corrosion. When a water feature is topped up with fresh water, calcium is also being added.... As the water evaporates and the pond is topped up again, more calcium is added with the new water, this results in increased calcium concentration over time. #jtis #jtiselectricalservices
