25.01.2022 Some customers have recently contacted us, very excited that they may have located a 445,000Litre tank of "FIRE WATER" at the Oilchem site in Epping. The attached photo has apparently gone viral throughout the performing art community, supposedly "proving" that Juggleart uses D60 for Firewater and that it’s stored in the aforementioned tank. We have contacted Oilchem, and would like to now correct some misunderstandings:... * The attached photo is not of an Oilchem tank. * Juggleart do not buy D60 from Oilchem. * Firewater is not D60. * Tanks labelled "FIRE WATER" are not unusual at bulk solvent storage sites. "FIRE WATER" is water reserved for fighting fires; this is to take the demand load off of the mains water supply. We hope that this information answers any questions you might have had in regards to this photo and its "connection" to Juggleart.

24.01.2022 Today's VOTW shows Kostya Kimlat performing a card trick using an original method, involving shuffling a deck face-up-into-face-down, and then making all of the cards except for the two selected cards instantly face the same direction. Penn said later: "When he started doing the trick, we recognised the plot. There's two parts of magic, there's the effect and there's the method. The effect is what it looks like to the audience, and the method is how you do it... [Kimlat] comes out, he starts doing the exact same effect we'd done two weeks earlier [on The Today Show], so we completely relaxed... And then right at the very end of the trick, we realised that the method he was using was entirely different from the one we had used, and we had the pants fooled right off us."

22.01.2022 Just a reminder that we'll be closed tomorrow for the Good Friday public holiday. Look after yourselves and each other, and we'll see you next week.

20.01.2022 We are closed for the Good Friday public holiday today but didn't want any of you to miss out on a VOTW. Monday is also a public holiday, so we'll see you all on Tuesday!

19.01.2022 CN: Today's VOTW contains strobe/flashing lights. Labelled "a national living treasure", Graeme Murphy is Australia’s premier choreographer. With his passion, creativity, humour and bold imagination, he has placed Australia on the international cultural map. In 2018, Murphy celebrates 50 years with The Australian Ballet. He began his dance career in the company’s corps de ballet and went on to an incandescent career as the head of Sydney Dance Company.... The Australian Ballet are paying tribute to this remarkable artist and choreographer with a revival of his vividly re-imagined 'Firebird' alongside excerpts from his groundbreaking 'The Silver Rose', 'Air and Other Invisible Forces', 'Grand' and 'Ellipse' in a special anniversary tribute event. The Melbourne run is March 16-26, and the Sydney run is April 6-23. Please visit their website for more information: https://australianballet.com.au/the-ballets/murphy

13.01.2022 Kane Petersen and his wife Jessica McCrindle met at National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), after Jessica's mother established Slipstream Circus. In 2003, the pair returned to Tasmania to become the artistic directors for the program. Their first son was born in September 2015. Just two weeks later, Kane walked 21 metres from one point of Melbourne's Eureka Tower to the other, 300 metres above the ground; it was the highest tightrope walk ever attempted in the Southern Hemi...sphere, and he smashed it. We shared the video here as a VOTW. Now he needs our help. Kane was in an accident at the end of last year. Gear failure led to a large metal pulley, under heavy load, slingshotting 20m and colliding with his shin. This smashed his tibia and fibula, and resulted in severe compartment syndrome. The bone was shattered at the place where the pulley made impact, leaving a gap which, because of the severity of the accident, currently isn't reforming. In 6 weeks, if there's still no sign of reforming, he'll need a bone graft to fill in the gap. All of this, as you can imagine, has been very expensive. The Australian circus community is made up of many amazing people, who have rallied together to raise funds to help Kane and his family. 11.01.2022 Magic captivates just about everyone on the planet. As a form of entertainment, magic has moved from theatrical venues to television magic specials, and now on to internet-based videos and blogs. With resources just a google-search away, it's easier to learn magic now than it's ever been.

10.01.2022 Created by the graduate circus students of the French Circus Academy, Urban Rabbits is not an ordinary piece. It explores our relationship to each other and to the world, asking who is the predator, and who is the prey? A co-production of the FCA and Krétakör, this 2010 exam presentation is a custom made artwork in which every graduate student must have a demonstration of their own field.

09.01.2022 The Paul Daniels Magic Show was a British magic show, presented by entertainer and magician Paul Daniels, that aired on BBC1 from 9 June 1979 to 18 June 1994. Today's VOTW showcases the Boginos and their fantastic unicycle act, which aired in 1985. You can watch the full episode here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2213sf (S07E10)

09.01.2022 We've been reminded that Monday is *also* a public holiday, so we will be closed until Tuesday March 3rd.

08.01.2022 Many of the techniques found in contact juggling, such as balancing or rolling a single ball or palm spinning, have been performed for centuries. More variations were introduced over time by vaudevillians and modern experimenters. Today's VOTW is of Kelvin Kalvus, who has performed his contact juggling routines over 20 years of shows, across 25 countries, on thousands of different stages.

06.01.2022 "The real secret, to me, is magic's ability to inspire wonder, to bring out the five-year-old in everyone. It's about questioning your reality, about creating shared experiences, about transcending barriers of age, race, religion, socioeconomic class; magic is about storytelling. It's about people, about emotions, about experiencing moments of genuine human connection. These are the reasons that I am a magician."

06.01.2022 Just a reminder that we're closed today for the Labour Day public holiday. We'll be back at usual at 10am tomorrow, Tuesday March 13.

06.01.2022 Today's VOTW was shown to us by a customer. It was filmed on location at the Polynesian Cultural Center, with their fire knife dancers plus ones in the community. These stunts were done by professionals; please do not try this at home.

03.01.2022 Fear of Friday the 13th has spawned a horror movies franchise, its own hard-to-pronounce termparaskevidekatriaphobiaand a tradition of widespread paranoia when it rolls around each year. Conversely, the number 13 is considered lucky in some countries; for example, the Italian expression "fare tredici" ("to do 13") means "hit the jackpot". Any month that begins on a Sunday has a Friday the 13th; in 2018, that includes April and July.
