20.01.2022 Hello all The Jugiong Business Directory edition 1.1 has been finalised. Video below. A tribute to all the businesses who add vitality, richness plus comforts to our lifestyle and community. Listed are 65 businesses under 35 categories and subcategories - approx. 115 entries. The 65 businesses include 16 from What's On (6), Sports (4), Government (3) Churches (2), and School (1).... This shows how our village community is truly punching above its weight. Send me your email if you wish to have a copy. It is a PDF file and has been formatted for your convenience, so you will be able to print either in A4 or in A5 booklet mode. There are a few households, who as yet, do not have an email address and thanks to the generosity of JAG we have had a limited number of booklets printed for these households. These will be delivered or collected via the Mobil Service Station. If you would like a printed copy, a small number of booklets will be available at the Mobil, limited to one per household. Ask at the service counter. If you miss out on these and you would like a printed copy, please contact me before the end of this month. If large numbers are required, we will revisit the situation. Appreciate all the valuable assistance which has been given to me in compiling this directory and thank you to JAG for funding a limited print, and Mobil for assisting in the distribution. Cheers, Joy E: [email protected]

17.01.2022 An historical day - Many trees have been added to our beautiful park. From the very young to the some what older lent a hand to have them planted. They then celebrated their hard yakka by having a very Aussie BBQ. Special thanks go the Brian and Paul for their organising and passion towards improving our gracious park. Congratulations to Will Chilton and Abigayle Ducksbury on the birth of Ollie Atlas Chilton this morning. A huge thank you to Will on this most important day ...coming to dig the holes for the trees. Your work was so appreciated. A society grows great when older folk plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. -Greek Proverb

16.01.2022 ALERT from Harden SES take care all Severe thunderstorm advice Severe Storm Warning (Damaging Winds, Large Hail, Heavy Rain) NW/CW/SW Slopes/Plains, Riverina, Upp/Low Western, C/S Tablelands & Snowy Mtns... Fri 18:30 EDT Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Damaging Winds, Large Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall for North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina and parts of Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Lower Western, Upper Western and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts. Issued at 6:30 pm Friday, 23 October 2020. Weather Situation DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas: Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina, Lower Western, Upper Western and Snowy Mountains Severe thunderstorms may produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Orange, Moree, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Tibooburra and Broken Hill. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. * Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences. * Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill. * Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water. * If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue. * Be aware that run-off from rainfall in fire affected areas may behave differently and be more rapid. It may also contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. * After bushfires, heavy rain and the loss of foliage can make the ground soft and heavy, leading to a greater chance of landslides. * Unplug computers and appliances. * Avoid using the phone during the storm. * Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well. * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires. * For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 9:30 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

09.01.2022 TREE PLANTING IN THE RECREATION GROUNDS A Huge thank you to all those who helped with the tree planting last Saturday. It was an amazing effort in planting, a great team effort and all had a very enjoyable day. Will Chilton was superb with his excavator and we truly appreciate him arriving so promptly after just that morning welcoming his new little baby into the world.... There are 20 trees left to plant and they are being planted at 8.30am this Friday 5th June. If you can lend a hand that would be fantastic (meet down near the fire shed end with shovel & gloves) If you can assist just turn up or let Brian Allen (0429 927 185) know or return email to [email protected] and I (Joy) will pass it on to Brian. The trees are going to be amazing as they grow and mature.
