Follow... through on the things you value & see as important. You are their parent first, not their friend. Let go of the rest, the small stuff. You have to choose your battles. Don’t make everything a battle. And if in doubt, chose love. See more

19.01.2022 Nice reminder for the holidays... not every day needs a schedule, give children time for unstructured play... let them be bored, get them to use their imaginations, let them be kids... More bike riding, walks, tree climbing, sleep overs, swimming... like the good ‘ol days Plus it’s cheaper

17.01.2022 I like this. ‘You get what you get & you might get upset’. Makes more sense now than ‘You get what you get & you don’t get upset’. It teaches us that we are allowed to have different feelings about situations & that it’s okay to be disappointed when things don’t go our way. It’s just that we need to be in control of our actions when we don’t get what we want. Good life lesson for us all. #juliedore #preppingforschoolsuccess

16.01.2022 Reading this wonderful book at the moment (The Conscious Parent by Shefali Tsabary) & wanted to share this page with you... I loved it so much that I read it many times. Such simple words to say to our children to remind them how much they mean to us. And to show them that it’s not what they do, but who they are that matters.

03.01.2022 Interesting... makes sense though. My kids are pretty good with most fruits & veges but I know some kids struggle big time, especially with the texture. Thought this was a good visual to maybe explain why.

02.01.2022 Say one of these to your child today. It’s the little things that count with children. Your words are powerful... use them to build your child up, not break them down. www.preppingforschoolsuccess.com

02.01.2022 Teach, model and value kindness. Children learn to be kind from experiencing kindness. Kindness matters & makes a difference. The world can be cruel sometimes... be kind anyway. #kindnessmatters #juliedore #preppingforschoolsuccess
