18.01.2022 With council elections underway, Ive noticed a number of candidate profiles popping up on my newsfeed. Social media is certainly transforming the way council election campaigns have been run in the past.

16.01.2022 Hello Everyone ... If you administer a FB business page, you will need to rethink how you host and promote campaigns in 2015. It has become even more crucial that businesses have a website presence and collect contact details on their customers. The days of relying solely on Facebook for marketing your business are diminishing.... Heres some valuable tips and strategies from Shortstack. Cheers, Julie :)

16.01.2022 Over the past month Ive noticed a number of local businesses breaking FB rules when running sweepstakes and competitions on their FB page timelines if you ar...e one of these businesses you are playing FB Russian Roulette and running the risk of Facebook closing down your page which means seeing all your hard work attracting followers going down the drain and having to start over again. As a condition for a chance to win, you CAN NOT ask participants to SHARE or TAG themselves in content or a photo that they are not depicted in, that is, you can not run competitions on personal timelines. What you CAN DO, is make any of the following a condition of entry for a chance to win! Like a post and/or comment and/or photo on your pages timeline Post directly on your pages timeline with a text or photo Have entrants message your page to enter Announce the winner of the contest on your page Have entrants come back to your page to see who has won the contest You also need to let entrants know the rules of the competition or sweepstakes, that is, details of the prize and its value, the end date, how the winner will be selected and advised and you must also acknowledge that the promotion is not associated with Facebook e.g. *This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook* Of course, you can suggest that followers share with their friends on facebook but you cant make it a condition of elegibility for a chance to win. I hope this has been of some help. For more details see Facebooks rules for promotions and sweepstakes, Section E. https://www.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php Cheers Julie
