23.01.2022 You are no doubt aware that the NSW Government is making additional efforts to try and contain the likelihood of community transmission of COVID-19. SJRU and a...ll affiliates of NSWRU support this wholeheartedly and in return we also appreciate the awareness from the government of the benefits of community sport. As the attached update from NSW Rugby and other community sports notes, they are pleased to have been able to work together with NSW Health and NSW Office of Sport to develop updated plans that help stop the spread of COVID-19 in NSW but also allow community sport to continue. After considering the latest requirements and recommendations, SJRU in association with NSWRU has determined that the Friday XVs, Sunday XVs, Frosty 7s, Sydney North Girls and all Minis competitions can proceed. However there will be a series of changes implemented to all of these competitions to help ensure everyones safety. We will communicate more details about them but the key changes will include: We have reviewed the grades in the Sunday XVs competition to significantly reduce cross-Sydney travel wherever practical, while trying to balance the safety and enjoyment of players. Re-grading has been completed and the revised draw will be issued on Thursday 20th. Frosty 7s will be split across two venues. In all the competitions noted above host clubs will be required to implement upgraded COVID protocols. These will include mandatory QR coding for attendance registers at all venues and a strong recommendation that all spectators wear masks. SJRU will issue an updated COVID Safety Plan template to all clubs on Thursday 20th. SJRU will review each competitions compliance with safety requirements each week. Other rugby events such as gala days and invitational tournaments will not be able to proceed. We will communicate directly with organisers of these proposed events. All of these changes are necessary to enable our kids to keep playing rugby. We appreciate everyones support for them for the remainder of this season. On behalf of all of SJRU I would also like to acknowledge the huge amount of work done behind the scenes by our operational team of John, Andrew and Tina. We thank them and all the volunteers who are still working hard to help our kids enjoy playing rugby.

23.01.2022 UPDATED ADVICE In line with current NSW Health information, and to ensure the safety of our families and volunteers, it is STRICTLY a One Parent/Carer per play...er rule, effective immediately. Please do not bring siblings where practical. If a sibling must attend with a parent, please keep them close to you and not running around the park. Just a reminder to please make sure you sign in at the appropriate area upon arrival. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE download the app 1breadcrumb, this makes everybodys day a lot easier and safer. there is NO automatic checkin now, you will have to actually push the checkin button Players are to go straight to their playing field while parents sign in. Please do not stay back after your game for socialising (we know this is disappointing). The coffee shop will be open this weekend along with the canteen for drinks and packaged foods such as chips, pies and sausage roll and drinks. HOT SPOTS AND ISOLATION In line with current NSW Health advice, if you have been in Victoria in the past 14 days, you should: immediately self-isolate until 14 days after you were last there get tested, even if you have no symptoms watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get retested should any symptoms occur even if you get a negative result from your test, you must stay in isolation for 14 days (this is because it can take 14 days before you may show symptoms or test positive). Thank you for your understanding. For more information visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates

23.01.2022 Wishing all of our players and their families a fabulous Christmas and New Year. Please continue to follow current health guidelines, and keep yourselves, your families and our community safe over the holiday period. We will see you all very soon!

Recent Recommend...ations released by NSW Health has meant that some changes will occur, however the COVID safe plans rugby has already has in place will allow for regular fixtures to continue. NSW Rugby together with other major sporting codes welcome the common sense approach to the implementation of the high level Recommendations articulated by NSW Health that will allow each State Sporting Organisation to work towards a tailored implementation at the same time as allowing community sport to continue to operate. Please see the new recommendations that will be implemented with additional details to come in the following days. #fortheloveofrugby

14.01.2022 An important update as been emailed to all clubs please read and make sure this information goes to the key COVID Safety people within your Club! COVID Update... The NSW Office of Sport and NSW Health has requested that we communicate an update to all our Clubs. With the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in school aged young people in particular, the next 6 weeks have been deemed critical for cases within our state. NSW Health are currently reviewing restrictions for community sport and it is expected that there may be an increases in those restrictions in coming weeks. The key points we have been requested to remind our club members include: Actively Reducing Risk Wherever possible, reduce participants, officials and parents etc attending your club Avoid excess people gathering whilst sport is taking place Do parents need to hang out the club during training or game play, unless specifically accompanying their own child? Is it possible to make other arrangements to care for siblings? Maintain 1.5m social distancing at all times where possible use visual cues (cones, tape, rope markings etc) to practically show people what 1.5m spacing looks like Increase warnings for those who are sick, showing symptoms etc to remain away from your club. Follow the directions of all COVID marshals and club officials in regard to COVID safety! COVID Safety Plans NSW Health COVID Safety Marshals will be around our state in increased numbers and will be checking on sporting clubs around NSW from this weekend to assess compliance with COVID protocols. Every club with more than 20 participants (players, officials, spectators, parents etc) is required to have a COVID Safety Plan Copies of these, and any additional venue/club specific plans that your Club is implementing should all be readily available for reference and checking at your Club. All of these must be produced on request by COVID Safety Marshals, the Police or any other Authorities who visit your venues. Contact tracing should be continued to be recorded as much as possible, with ideally digital records (the use of QR Codes is recommended, and dont forget the wealth of contact information stored with Xplorer) and retained for a minimum of 28 days. Infection rates in children is of a high concern to NSW Health in particular over the next six weeks. We must pay attention to ensuring that our junior competitors/ participants are maintaining social distancing, cleaning/ hygiene requirements and remember GET IN play GET OUT still applies so our Training and Competitions can continue on foot Other Key Reminders Anyone who is unwell should stay home Your Club activities can continue as long as the current Public Health Orders are complied with Practice good hand hygiene before, during and after Rugby Avoid physical contact where possible Do not share drinks, towels, clothing etc Encourage players to arrive dressed, ready to go Encourage the use of the COVIDSafe app for everyone whilst at your club A noted above we want to limit spectators to a minimum. Further if there is any confusion on social distancing, following a one person per 4 square metres rule is a very effective way of ensuring sufficient physical distancing between people. The key thing here is to remain vigilant. Community Sport has done very well to not be the cause so far of any outbreaks, we need to keep up this good work, so our participants can continue to enjoy Rugby for the remainder of the season.

14.01.2022 U11s Friday Night Comp - Amended start time to 6:45 pm. Go Rangers!

14.01.2022 Dear Burra , On behalf of Myself and the rugby Board at Burraneer Rugby Club, I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and every blessi...ng in 2021. May it be a peaceful and prosperous New Year for each of you. 2021 will be better !!! Without a doubt 2020 has been the most challenging and difficult year for all at Burraneer Rugby club, both financially and operationally. Throughout these difficult days our members have been a huge help, and I would like to sincerely thank each of you for your continued support throughout the year which is valued and deeply appreciated. All the Challenges aside, we have shown great resilience as a group which has made us all very proud. On the playing front, all our junior teams performed exceptionally well, it was great to get onto the paddock and get some rugby played, again the whole club should be congratulated on how we all adapted to the COVID19 processes put in place to keep us safe and continue Rugby. We salute all our wonderful junior coaches and the backroom volunteers for their outstanding commitment to our boys and girls. The tremendous skills showcased by Burra juniors gave us all huge enjoyment and a great boost during the season. We are also enthused by the ongoing success of our Mini Section on Saturday mornings, which brings children and families together to enjoy the game we love while promoting health and fitness and the Burra Culture. We currently have over 300 players participating in our U/6 to U/9 grades. These young players are the future of our club and to our Minis Co-ordinator Jodie along with all the coaches and mentors who are working with the next generation a Big XMAS thank you ... With a deep rooted and proud history, Burraneer is one of the leading junior clubs in the Southern Sydney region and as we head into our 66th year, our priority is to continue to grow junior rugby in this area. Our Girls Rugby section continues to grow year on year and build strong foundations for the future. A big driver for our girls is Geoff Considine, who has worked tirelessly to grow Girls age groups over the last 3 years and without his enormous enthusiasm and energy girls rugby at Burraneer would not be where it is today. Great work Geoff, Geoff has some big announcements on our Girls Rugby in the new year. To grow and do this effectively, we must resource and fund our club by nurturing old and creating new relationships and opportunities with our current members, our sponsors and the neighbouring community, thank you to all our Rugby partners for your continued support. We are always endeavouring to improve our engagement and communications with our members, neighbours, sponsors, alumni and all other key stakeholders for the greater good of junior rugby. These actions will help increase junior membership and provide greater visibility for our sponsors. As we move forward with enormous positivity, this will enable improvements to our infrastructure and will continue to enhance and strengthen our club. Finally, I would like to recognise our Executive Rugby Committee for their hard work and commitment over the past twelve months thank you sincerely for your support. Stay safe and well over the Xmas and New year period see you in 2021... With warmest regards, Matt Kennedy

11.01.2022 FUN FACT In 2013, Michael and Alan Alaalatoa were locking down the 2nd Grade scrum for Southern Districts Rugby Club. Following that year Alan was picked up b...y the Brumbies and he burst onto the Super Rugby scene and is now a common fixture of the Wallabies. Michael on the other hand, took the road less travelled and signed with the Crusaders in 2016, where he went on to win 3 Super Rugby Titles. These two are perfect examples of the opportunities available through the club rugby pathway in the Southern catchment area Catch Alan representing the @wallabies in the 3rd Bledislode Match against the @allblacks tonight!

10.01.2022 As everyone is now no doubt aware, there have been new COVID recommendations for Community Sport released by NSW Health and the Office of Sport, as well as publ...icised suspensions of a number of school sport competitions. Clearly this has great import for all Community Sport, not just Rugby. We (NSW Rugby and SJRU) are working through the new recommendations with Health and Office of Sport and what it means for SJRU Competitions (Friday XVs, Sunday XVs and Frosty 7s) going forward. Included in our discussions with the government are any potential changes we may need to make to competitions, and also additional COVID safety measures we may need to put in place to continue to play. The completed ongoing draw for the Sunday XVs comp will not be distributed, until we have clarified any changes which may be necessary to that draw in response to the new government recommendations. We urge everyone to remain compliant with public health orders in regard to COVID, to continue to train, following your COVID safety protocols and plans, and I will come back to you no later than tomorrow afternoon with an update on where to from here.

09.01.2022 MINIs - Training is back on tonight at AR Hurst. 6pm till 7pm Whilst the kids are training on Wednesday night we will be having a meeting/info session with the ...parents regarding COVID and a few other matters, so if you could also mention this to them to come to the front of the clubhouse at 615pm that would be great.
