19.01.2022 Everyone's gone home, now it's my turn to train.

19.01.2022 Double Sword performance at a competition on the weekend.

13.01.2022 Having a bit of fun on Saturday morning. Elbow break, 3 x 2cm boards.

09.01.2022 Monday Morning Update After 3 weeks of healing and busy schedule with Injuries, Gradings, Competitions, Seminars and Demonstrations I'm back into light training this morning. Body is feeling good, almost ready to start kicking again, but some of the hard work losing weight has been undone during the past few weeks so I have to start again today. Should be fun though, since training is the way to get into shape and I love training... The picture is a memory from Nationals about 3 years ago in Brisbane. It's amazing how young the students looked then compared to now. And almost everyone was too cool to look at the camera...

09.01.2022 It's a funny feeling watching students you taught as kids being grown up and teaching kids.

06.01.2022 It's competition day today. Huge division with over 25 people in the male 30-40 yr category. It's been a long time since I've had such a huge division, and I'm excited to get started. The more in the division, the more fierce the competition and the more fun the day becomes, so today looks like a great day.

06.01.2022 Returned to competition this weekend at the Sydney Taekwondo Championships and my first competition in 3 years. Competed in Individual and Teams with two of my long time competition students Noah and Nick. Here's a video of the Team.

02.01.2022 Gold medal in Individual Poomsae today at the WATAICTO competition in Osaka, Japan. 25 people in my division today. Biggest I've had in a long time. Performed Koryo in the first round with a score of 6.81 and won the round (personal best performance, I felt good after the performance).... After the first round, the division was cut down to 8 competitors. Final round was Taebaek (7.07 PB) and Sipjin (6.7ish) bringing the total to 6.91. Second place was 6.72 which was a nice lead. Most importantly I had fun competing at an international competition again with people from all around the world and managed to redeem my performance from a few years ago by winning the gold and performing a good Sipjin (last time there were a lot of mistakes and a silver...). Thanks everyone for the well wishes and support on the trip so far!

01.01.2022 Great welcome home surprise today being presented with my Lakan 1 (1st Dan) in Arnis de Mano from Master Sam and Mataas na Guro Elias Baera. This certificate is the culmination of approximately 5 years of training in Arnis. Arnis is a system of Filipino Martial Arts involving Sticks, Knives, Machete and Open Hand Techniques.

01.01.2022 Last night I was presented with my 4th Dan in Hapkido, as well as my Instructor Certification in Hapkido and 3rd Dan International Self Defence Federation certificate. Honoured to receive the certificate from Master Sam Loiacono and alongside Yokk Sirin.

01.01.2022 Very proud and humbled to have received my 3rd Dan in Hapkido from Master Sam last night. This completes the first part of my goal, with Haidong Gumdo at 3rd Dan and Taekwondo at 4th Dan on my way to triple 9th Dan one day! Next: Represent Australia one more time in Poomsae Competition in Japan next weekend!
