15.01.2022 Wet weather weekend guys, perfect time to get your trailer maintenance done ready for Xmas. We see so many boat and ski trailers at the ramp every weekend with noisy bearings, rollers missing and even wheels coming completely off! A good note is to record somewhere what model bearings your trailer takes as well- when the time comes to replace, it will save a lot of hassle.

13.01.2022 Quite amazing the different species of fish caught here in the southern Moreton Bay area. Here’s the first milkfish I’ve ever seen caught right here in the well by Codey. Fish was of course carefully released. Thanks heaps for sending your pic in mate.

10.01.2022 Mud crabs have been going nuts the past few days around the local area. Definitely worth putting a few pots in. Just a reminder that there is a limit of 7 mud crabs per person, but also a boat limit of 14 crabs maximum if 2 or more persons on board. Obviously no take allowed on female crabs as well. Good work Luke, Kerrie and Andy!

09.01.2022 Looks like our new 30hp Mercury 4 stroke has arrived. Still to be fitted so will advise when ready to hire. This one will be fitted with power trim and tilt and electric start. Marine Liscence will be required and this vessel is allowed to navigate to the Jumpinpin area and Tipplers Licensed Cafe.

05.01.2022 Luke with 2 Jumpinpin caught cracking fish. The Flathead was oversize(nearly 90cm) and was successfully released. Top effort mate!

05.01.2022 Another one of those amazing Jacobs Well Jetty captures. This old beer glass was pulled up on the jetty by a fisherman and was seen to have something inside it that had grabbed the bait. It was actually an octopus that had made the glass its home!! It always pays to be careful as I did hear of a blue ring being caught off the boating pontoon years ago. Thanks heaps to Zach for sending the pics in. Has anyone else caught these around Jacobs Well?

02.01.2022 146 crab pots have been seized by Gold Coast QBFP. Officers recently teamed up with the Gold Coast Waterways Authority to remove derelict crab pots from the... Southport Sundale Bridge to the Logan River. Don’t lose your pots! Crab pots must be marked with the user's surname and address and your gear should be removed from the water when you finish up. Crab pots that are left in the water continue to 'ghost fish' and can trap crabs, fish and other animals like turtles and even birds. You can report abandoned and unmarked crab pots by calling the 24-hour Fishwatch hotline on 1800 017 116 (toll free within Queensland).

While we will have another rescue vessel on duty that day, if our secondary vessel is required for an emergency or rescue activation, the Santa Visit will be abandoned to attend the activation.
