24.01.2022 Behind the curtain with Kinky Boots - Geelong.

21.01.2022 It’s been a wonderful experience working with GSODA again for their production of Kinky Boots. This will be the first presentation of the show in Geelong and I’ve had the privilege of working with the production team to capture promo, program and rehearsal shots. The show opens Oct 4th at GPAC. Get your tickets online. Kinky Boots - Geelong

20.01.2022 Back working with GSODA for this years performance. It’s absolutely hilarious. And an utter riot. The kids energy is always infectious.

19.01.2022 I am on hiatus until the New Year.

19.01.2022 Proudly supporting GSODA Junior Players and for my third year. Lots of headshots, costume shots for archiving, promotional and in-theatre. Very honoured and privileged to be working with you as you prepare for Hercules the Panto! GSODA

16.01.2022 For three years I have worked with the Geelong Society of Dramatic Arts (GSODA) and have been privileged to witness Deb Fraser in action. I was saying to someone that when you’ve been involved in theatre as long as Deb has been, it runs in your blood. Deb has a guiding hand over so many aspects of a production. She sits and watches it all happening, analysing, taking it all in, coming up with suggestions, solutions whether it’s costumes, makeup or sets. ... There are moments when she it’s watching a performance unfold that she smiles, quietly. It’s in those moments you see her love and passion for theatre. When I asked her to pose for me, I asked where do you feel at home in the theatre? After some consideration she said, I’ve done so much. It depends what I’m doing with reach show, but I love being on stage. Deb, thank you for honouring my request to take this stunning pic of you, in the wings, amongst the hustle of back stage.

16.01.2022 Memories! Time flies!

16.01.2022 To celebrate the production run of Hercules: The panto by GSODA, here are some more pics from their time in theatre. Chookas to all involved. Its always an absolute privilege to be part of your journey!

15.01.2022 Chaarrrlaaaay, honestlaaaay

11.01.2022 About to create a new photography backdrop from scratch! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time! Getting ready for a shoot on the weekend!

10.01.2022 Putting on a major musical is hard, challenging work. But when an amateur company does it, it’s not for the money, it’s for the love of theatre and indeed, for the sense of community that’s fostered amongst the cast and crew. I am a very lucky photographer who gets to peek behind the curtain with GSODA when they put on a show, and what I get to see is a team of people who work together to give the best possible performance. It’s not always slick, rehearsal periods are sho...rter, getting into theatre is always a challenge - sets are still being finished, costumes still being sewn, changes still being made only hours before opening night - but it’s organic. Under all the frenetic energy is an undercurrent of passion and joy for theatre that somehow negates all the challenges. I get to see how the cast and crew roll with the punches, work together, find solutions, rework steps and keep on keeping on. Because the end goal is standing in front of an audience to tell a story and move them, and that’s all the reward a performer needs The cast of Kinky Boots May not be professional but I can tell you, you wouldn’t have known that watching from the audience. It’s the same level of passion, talent, commitment and energy. Congrats on a remarkable production.

03.01.2022 I've been working on some images shot from Sundays photoshoot. For about 5 years I have wanted to be able to work from home but have never had the time, space or $$$. So this weekend I cheated. I made my own backdrop for $170 rather than spend $300 on what I wanted. I also set my studio up in my lounge. ... These are some of the results. Emily was an absolute natural. We wanted to pull inspiration from Adele, who Em idolizes. Emily is an amazing singer and sung while we worked. I'm crushing on these pics. Hope you do too. 01.01.2022 Had a very enjoyable and rewarding time with the cast of Kinky Boots - Geelong yesterday shooting images for promo and program. We shot down at the old warehouses at Federation Mills and it provided an amazing aesthetic. This is mighty talented (and visionary) director, Christian Cavallo working with cast members Charlie and Glen to set the scene. ... Kinky Boots opens in 6 weeks at GPAC.
