20.01.2022 Coronavirus hates heat and the sun?? following notes on Coronavirus for guidance: 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.... 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun. 4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap. 6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it. 7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice. 8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. 9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice. 10. Can't emphasise enough - drink plenty of water! THE SYMPTOMS 1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days 2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further. 3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. 4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. 19.01.2022 [QLD NEWS - ALERT] Oh dear... Real Estate Agents in Qld have made it to the top 5 of most complained about industries by the Office of Fair Trading. The most complained about industries in 2019... The OFT seeks to educate and engage with both consumers and traders on issues that affect their rights and obligations. In doing so, from January to December 2019, we provided information and advice by telephone to more than 101,000 consumers and traders who called for advice about their marketplace rights and responsibilities. The vast majority of Queensland traders comply with the law and are committed to good customer service. However, we also finalised just over 15,800 complaints from the public against traders, which is down slightly from 16,063 complaints in 2018. Examples of enforcement outcomes achieved by OFT during the year as a result of consumer complaints include: a Toowoomba dog breeder who was fined $14,500 for failing to supply puppies; a tradie who was fined $10,000 for failing to install pool fences; and a bitumen bandit who was fined $64,000 for failing to meet his consumer obligations. The top five most complained about industries across the state for 2019 were: 1) Personal and household goods (4,164 complaints) 2) Motor vehicle sales (1,856 complaints) 3) Personal & household services (1,508 complaints) 4) Real estate agents (1,158 complaints) 5) Motor vehicle services,repairs, parts, accessories and wreckers (952 complaints). There are a number of things you can do to reduce complaints and to make sure you comply with your legal obligations under consumer protection laws. Be clear with your customers about the details of the product, or the level of service, you are supplying and the time frame you can supply it in. The clearer you are, the lower the risk you might mislead the customer. Also, don’t take money for something you can’t supply. Ensure your employees understand your business’s obligations under these laws. You should also have a clear customer complaint policy and ensure your employees know what they should do if they are approached by an unhappy customer.
