03.01.2022 I recently caught up with Natalie of K & A Quality Meats to chat to her about her and husband Kane's business. They're definitely OPEN! Kane's the butcher... and Natalie takes care of the book work, paper work and promotion - making good use of her office experience in a finance company. Now she gets to enjoy the community environment, talking to her regular customers and being there for the kids. Kane's always wanted to have his own business so he took the opportunity when it came along. He and Natalie have been running the business for nearly 11 years. During that time they've established a great, friendly team who deliver the kind of customer service customers keep coming back for! To ensure the best quality, fresh meat they buy in fresh carcasses. All sausages and other prepared cuts are made fresh on site. Some of their regulars travel from far away for quality and freshness. They also provide cooked food now, so can cater for parties - roast pork, veggies, lamb, grass fed beef and chicken. Natalie smiles as she says "we do lasagna too" - something she takes care of herself. The COVID pandemic was a bit of a nightmare for them. After an initial slight slow down it all went crazy as people stocked up on meat just in case. At the height of the craziness, to keep up with demand, Kane was working until 2am and starting again 5am! What's Natalie most proud of? That after 10 years they've still in business. Although they weathered the COVID storm well the last turbulent few months bring home the business challenges they've faced and how they've persevered to succeed. They sponsor local football and soccer clubs. You may have seen their signage and tasted their donated meat products. There's a new website coming! Keep a look out for it...
