15.01.2022 Did you know? Currently the pet food industry in Australia is not regulated? Pet food brands do not have to pass a standard level of quality; the Australian standard of quality is currently optional.... With so many brands failing to meet our pups normal dietary requirements, it is always recommended to choose a super premium/natural dog food brand for your pup. The benefits include: A longer life expectancy Optimal growth in our puppies Shiny coats and All round happy puppy temperaments Keep your pups healthy https://k9central.com.au/doggy-day-care/

13.01.2022 Lilah and Charlie practice their ‘sit’ and ‘stay’. It’s important for dogs to have good manners with both people and with other dogs.

13.01.2022 Proper and frequent nail trimming is important to ensure the overall health of your dog. If their nails become to long, their posture may change to accommodate the awkward nail length, promoting bad posture and possible other health concerns. Handy tip ... While your dog is standing, if their nails are touching the ground, it's a sign they need to have them trimmed. Book your pooch in today. https://k9central.com.au/dog-grooming/

11.01.2022 Spiked collars are few and far between these days, but they have a fascinating history. They originated from Ancient Greece and were a way for dog owners to protect their dogs from wolf attacks. The neck armor was mainly used on herding and flock guardians, to give them better protection when defending their herd from predators.

09.01.2022 Each dog is an individual which needs its own amount of space to feel comfortable and safe. Some dogs are touchy-feely, and some feel much more at ease with distance between themselves and another dog. At K9 central we do take these individual needs into consideration when socialising dogs with their own kind.

08.01.2022 Labrador Retriever These happy, excited and loveable dogs are the most popular dogs in the world. Originating in Newfoundland, Canada. They began their rise to popularity when English nobles visited Canada in the early 1800s.... Very family orientated and sociable, this highly active breed needs a lot of physical activity and entertainment, least they start chewing on your belongings. They love being around their family and we love them. https://k9central.com.au/

02.01.2022 Hey dog lovers - Let’s talk xmas treats. I know I’m very early. But already shops are stocking them. The fun looking stockings for dogs full of yummy treats and rawhides. But did you know they are one of the worst treats you can give your dog? ... Let me tell you why. Rawhide is made in 4 steps. Step 1: The tannery. Cattle hides are shipped from the slaughterhouse to tanneries for processing. They are usually treated with a chemical bath to help preserve the product during transport. At the tannery they are soaked and treated with either an ash-lye solution or a highly toxic recipe of sodium sulphide liming. It will stip the hair and fat that might still be attached to the hide. Then they will be treated with more chemicals. Step 2: Cleaning process Now they have the inner layer of the hide they next step comes where the hides are washed and whitened using a solution of hydrogen perixode and/or bleach. Step 3: Decorating Now they are going to make it look pretty with paint with several dyes and artificial flavours. Some have even things like titanium oxide or sadium benzoate! Step 4: Make it Last. To make sure the rawhide will stay in their pretty bows, candy cane or stocking shapes they use glue. Any type of glue will do. When tested the following chemicals/substances have been found in rawhides: Lead, arsenic, mercury, chromium salts, Formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals.
