10.01.2022 PONY EXPRESS RESULTS 2020 - Sat 12th Sept

10.01.2022 PONY EXPRESS Finishing off the 2020 season with the Pony Express. Starting off with the younger kids going out for the first run for the day. The 50 & 65 combined class hit out with a 45 minute race. Lucas Colliver had the start and gapped the pack the whole race winning with a massive lead. Racing in the 50’s was Hudson Wilson keeping up with the top few 65’s and Max Donald just behind the top boys. 85’s were up next and headed out to the start for their race. Hugh Crawford... along with Jayden Hank close behind led the pack out through the first few corners until Hugh had a hefty get off, resulting in a broken collarbone, wishing Hugh a speedy recovery. Jayden Hank kept his led from Harrison Lamshed sitting in second, both of them giving the technical log section a crack instead of having to detour and take the chicken run. The seniors were up last going for a sight lap to start off their day taking a looking at the challenges ahead. Technical logs, steep hills, dam, muddy section, pits or partner changeover area, ruts through the trees and sand section. The seniors then went out for their massive 2 hour race with over 50 riders, some riders having partners and some doing the old ironman, like popular rider Danny Leane. Daniel Nugget Allen and Kai Newbold were an obvious strong partnership taking the lead early, making their job easy. As the day went on the mud got muddier and the hills got crazier. Certainly was lots to keep you on the edge of your chair! Most of the riders hitting the technical logs and some chickening out and hitting the chicken run. J125 was taken out by Landen Panozzo and McKenzie Bruce who rode well against the huge pack of riders out there. Jordan Doctor and Liam Samwell came in second keeping consistent all day. The two strong riders of Kai and Nugget had held their lead all race and lapped the whole field by lap 18 out of 29 in total. First Ironman over the line was Danny Leane a top effort coming in 6th overall with a total of 26 laps. Obay Cup (Old boys acting young) was taken out once again by Richard Bussenschutt and Dwayne Weatherspoon. Congratulations to all the winners! What an amazing day, with lots of laughs. Thank you to all involved. You can choose to pay by direct deposit/cash on the day or eftpos will be available. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:-... This year there will be no swapping around in grades each race meet. Once you have selected your grade on your membership form you are locked in for the year. You will be all required to check in when arriving at the track using the QR code. Signs will be displayed in the club rooms. Due to a small committee this year, we will be looking for people to help throughout the day on various jobs. You will be required to do a job:- 1. Flagging 2. Lap Scoring 3. Canteen Duties 4. Starter The week of racing we will post what is needed for that week. And if we don’t get all positions filled we may cancel the race meet. I know this is harsh but the reality is the committee can’t do it all. Half of our members don’t have their children riding so they are giving up their time to keep the club running. https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSeX34GrVvP441byj/viewform

02.01.2022 Season 2020 has now been completed. And what a different year it was. The committee will take a well earned rest for the remainder of the year. So therefore the track is now closed. Hopefully 2021, will see a normal year ahead. AGM will be held in late January early February. All positions will be vacant. Please consider joining the committee as some long serving members are not continuing on. Even if you are from another town, we can certainly arrange other ways to run our meetings.
