23.01.2022 The Grandsons came to visit and this was a great opportunity to practice their skills and knowledge. So, they made Cup Murrie (traditional underground cooking), cleaned the Banana patch, helped clean Coconut shells and then did a garden work out!!

20.01.2022 Grade 11 boys from a Cairns school not just inspired by Kaizi being self-employed, making a traditional medicine, but also his garden. Like the original Aboriginal gardeners of this huge land, Torres Strait Islanders, New Guineans and all Pacific Island Nations, garden = food = health = survival. Kaizi enjoys growing traditional foods such as Yam, Cassava, Taro, Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, Water Melon and Paw Paw. In fact he loves the Garden as much as the art of making Coconut Oil. Sharing his passion with these young people is a powerful force that drives him hard. Let us hope he continues to be able to do so for many years to come.

12.01.2022 So, on a more recent note we held a cultural day for some of our youngens... cooking Cup Murrie (traditional underground cooking), weaving Coconut leaves to illustrate chosen times for leading & following and the processes of making traditional Coconut Oil. In this mini leadership program, they learnt that Torres Strait Island culture is living and breathing in 2021 and that there’s a lot to be proud of.

11.01.2022 We’re all hearing about Coronavirus amongst other sicknesses like, AIDS, Ebola, Influenza, Smallpox and the common Flu. These are all Viruses as apposed to Bacterial infections. However, we hear little and did you know, that Coconut Oil AND Castor Oil, ironically both carrier Oils from tropical regions - both have properties that repel viruses. There’s a list of Essential Oils too that can also assist in repelling viruses - just Google it and maybe do your own research. It was indeed refreshing to exchange ideas with a traditionally trained doctor who was also looking to respect the traditional uses for unrefined Coconut Oil. An internationally recognised integrative medical specialist and founder of Treat the Cause Clinic, he is also a Consultant in Nutritional and Environmental med...icine. It seems that Dr Greg is a supporter of an ethos that treats people in the most holistic way possible - mind, body and soul, practising Yoga himself and open to methods of complimentary medicine that work towards the best outcome for the individual. Already knowledgeable about Coconut, we talked about the unique, immune system supportive fats that Coconuts hold and the controversial thoughts behind the traditional Ayurvedic method of using Coconut Oil Pulling and how it can be used as a tool to aid in controlling the bacteria present in the Mouth.
