25.01.2022 Enjoying another beautiful dry season day in Darwin and checking out a once in a lifetime event! These monocarpic Palm trees (Corypha Utan) down at Lake Alexander in East Point reserve have started flowering. Being monocarpic means they only flower and seed once in their life after about 50 years. Unfortunately it does hence signal their imminent death after they have dropped their seeds! Speaking of once in a lifetime events, we have just updated our Covid-19 web page with some important info on future tours. http://www.kakadu4wdsafaris.com/covid-19-update/

24.01.2022 Check out our one off specialty tours for 2021.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately, Kakadus amazing wetlands are under threat - learn about the risks to our wetlands in the fourth video of our World Wetlands Day series. Kakadu N...ational Park is joining the global celebration of World Wetlands Day by raising awareness of Wetlands and Biodiversity. Recognised globally, World Wetlands Day is celebrated each year on the 2nd February, marking the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) in Ramsar, Iran. Wetland biodiversity contributes to ecosystem resilience, clean water, water supply, storm protection, carbon storage, health and well-being, tourism, recreation and jobs. Biodiversity is a foundational value of wetlands and an inherent part of the significance of these ecosystems. Life on earth depends on the wetlands for survival, we can all do our part to protect them! 06.01.2022 If ever you needed a reminder of how spectacular the Top End of Australia is during the wet season, this video from Mikey Forster Hannon is proof! Falls of 200-...300 mm have been recorded across Kakadu National Park since the beginning of February, allowing streams and rivers to fill, and waterfalls like Twin Falls, to flow. Showers and thunderstorms will continue across the region over the coming days, with the heaviest of the falls further east driven by a tropical low over the Gulf of Carpentaria. This tropical low is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone, but will continue to bring widespread torrential rain to Gulf communities in both the NT and Qld. For the latest forecasts and warnings, go to our website http://ow.ly/xx0V50DDidp or the #BOMWeather app.

03.01.2022 Should Kakadu National Park be under the NT Governments control? The Top Ends biggest tourist attraction, run by the Federal Government, remains closed. Gle...n Hingley from Tourism Top End said businesses were told to get ready to open last week, and estimated the confusion cost the industry around $1 million. Brant Smith, the man in charge of Kakadu, says their "number one priority is safety," and COVID-safe arrangements and infrastructure upgrades are the reason for the delayed re-opening. Kakadu will re-open in stages from Friday, June 19. What do you think?
