10.01.2022 Musos, what’s your process? How do you like to write? What are some of the coolest ways you’ve gotten inspired for riffs, beats, melodies etc? I love all kinds of weird beats from other genres and cultures. Here’s an example I can share. After wanting to develop some ideas with Indian rhythms, I stumbled on Sarah Thawer’s drum tutorial on the subject. This small section shows the Kherwa in a groove on a full kit. The full tutorial on YouTube is a great watch.... The Kherwa Sarah shows on the drums was the inspiration behind the guitar riff in Sadist of Circumstance, that you can hear at 0:49 and again at 1:18. (Song link in comments)
