22.01.2022 Last night Kananga Rover Crew was taken back in time to the 90’s by one of our Crew members! We had a great night which ended with us all in tears and stitches from laughter as we relived what it was like to be a kid in the 90’s by doing ‘Mad Libs’ making fortune tellers/chatterboxes and playing ‘MASH’. If you want to come along, experience time travel and have a laugh with us we meet on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the Beacon Hill Baden Powell Centre. Hope to see you the...re! #roverstimetravel #rovers100

20.01.2022 The members of Kananga Rover Crew have had a jam packed couple of weekends! Last Saturday a couple of our Crew members had the privilege of being invited to a morning tea at Government House to commemorate the 100th year of Rovers. Last Sunday our Crew members attended the Rovers100 Birthday Bash at the Scout Museum in Newington Armoury where we not only celebrated the birthday of Rovers but also the birthday of one of our Crew members! ... And finally, this weekend a couple of our members rolled up their sleeves and donated blood at the Red Cross Blood Donation Centre in Town Hall accompanied by their support team! #roversdostuff #rovers100 #service100 #red25

20.01.2022 Congratulations to one of our founding Crew members Peter Dean on his Rover Recognition Award! It was definitely well deserved!! #kanangaroversdostuff

18.01.2022 Kananga Rover Crew had a messy fun-filled week with friends last week. It started with ‘Paint Pillow Forte Fight Night with Cardboard’ where we were joined by Brookvale/Curl Curl Venturers to make our own armour out of pillows and cardboard before battling it out in ‘Capture the Flag’ style game where paint and pool noodles were our primary weapons. We then finished the week playing paintball with our friends from Brush Park Rover Crew and Yaralla Rover Crew and while a few of us went home followers by paint and a few bruises, much fun was had by all! If you’re interested in getting to know new people, having fun and getting a little messy, shoot our page a message to find out more!

18.01.2022 Kananga Rover Crew has had a very busy couple of weekends with two big service activities! Two weekends ago Crew members volunteered to run a whole bunch of fun wide games for 1st Bayview Sea Scouts at their annual camp at Sugee Bag Creek. We also showed them how Rovers make bonfires! It was safe to say both the Rovers and the Scouts had a blast! Last weekend Crew members volunteered to do a pamphlet drop for the good people at Probus South Pacific Ltd. Over the two days we ...distributed 9292 flyers to households in three different suburbs. The aim was to raise awareness and support the formation of a new Probus Club in this area which will bring retirees together in an active and social environment to share meaningful connections between members and the greater community. #rovers100 #service100 #link100 #roversdoservice

15.01.2022 Last Wednesday night Kananga Rover Crew got together with Bayview Venturer Unit and went rock climbing at the Rock House Indoor Climbing Centre in Brookvale. Needless to say, challenges were overcome, new heights were reached, much fun was had by all and we’re definitely super keen to get back in the harness with you guys! #rovers100 #link100 #nofear

15.01.2022 Last night Kananga Rover Crew got together with the awesome people from Belrose Venturer Unit and competed in a $3 Dinner Challenge. After a close competition which gave way to some culinary excellence and fantastic number crunching budgets one team showed they could be the cheapest and the tastiest of them all! Congratulations to the ‘Lipton Ice Tea’ Team who won with their budget teriyaki beef sausages and rice in a yin yang design and finished with ice cream sandwiches and rice pudding for dessert. Thanks for a great night guys, we can’t wait to do it again!

15.01.2022 On Wednesday night Kananga Rovers put their construction skills to the test and built a tower out of the materials in our hall under the careful instruction of our Tower Master Will. We had loads of fun even when making sure we put safety first!

06.01.2022 *Peter Dean Appreciation Post* Kananga Rover Crew would like to take a moment to acknowledge one of our now (sadly) ex Rovers Peter Dean! Pete was one of the founding members of the new Kananga Rover Crew which was reformed back in 2012 and since then he has been an incredibly important member to this Crew and of the Rover Section... Throughout his years in Rovers, Pete held many positions including Crew Leader and Treasurer as well as Training Officer and Treasurer on the Sydney North Region Rover Council and was awarded with a Rover Recognition Award in 2018. In August he was awarded his Baden Powell Scout award by the members of his Crew and the Chief Scout of NSW at a Ceremony at Government House making him the first of this Kananga Rover Crew to do so. Sadly, also in August we said goodbye to Pete as he has finished his time in the Rovering Section and is now moving onto the next chapter in his life. We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Pete for all of his contributions over his career in Rovers as well as congratulate him on his Baden Powell Scout Award, say goodbye and share a few of these wonderful moments.

05.01.2022 Tonight the members of Kananga Rover Crew embraced their classier side at ‘High Tea Night’ where a number of sweet and savoury finger foods were enjoyed as well as a nice hot beverage to wash them down. They even got to decorate their own tea cups! #rovers100 #allclass #roversareclassy

02.01.2022 This weekend Kananga Rover Crew went camping with some of the awesome members of the Bayview Venturer Unit at The Ridge next to Lake George. While it was a little chilly that far south it was great to do some 4WDing, see some amazing views and sit around a warm campfire eating a classic camp oven roast with some amazing people. We are already looking forward to the next trip! #rovers100 #link100 #keenforthenexttrip #gottaloveacampovenroast

02.01.2022 Here’s a throwback to last month when Kananga Rover Crew had our first Booting since we reformed in 2012! We had a great weekend, albeit a slightly wet one, farewelling one of our founding members Stephanie James Arneaud at the place where her Scouting career first began, Camp Kariong. Steph is also the first one to receive the prestigious Bronze Booting Duck of Kananga Rover Crew! We would like to take this opportunity to thank Steph for all her years contributing to the ...Crew and helping shape it into what it is today! We wish you all the best in the future! #kanangaroversdostuff #throwbackthursday #bronzebootingduck
