22.01.2022 Kandina Maines are securing some very nice Simmental Bull's , one being (homozygous) to cross over our Maine Anjou and Simmental herd. We have also secured a Ma...ndalong Special to our breed program. Thank you to Clinton at Charlton Park Beef Cattle (Mandalong Special) and Vanessa and Pete, Pinaroo Hill's Simmental's for there input. We are extremely excited for our future moving forward. 22.01.2022 Kandina Maines in Trafalgar sent a Pure Maine Anjou Steer of to Monday's Pakenham Market. Was very surprised with the price increase. I assume the panick buying helping. Land Line had informed price's shifted down, we were very happy that our strategy paying off. This Pure10 month old steer still on his mum , grass fed only, weighed in at 385kg @ $3.48per kg. He has topped our best price per kg ever! Looking forward to seeing what our Pure Full French crosses will fetch.

21.01.2022 Kandina Maines has had a ripper week calving. Two Maine Anjou Cow's and Two Simmental Cow's all by E'Cunia (Full French Bull) Mum and Calves all doing well, 3 Heifer's and 1 Bull.

16.01.2022 Thanks to all those who follow and like Kandina Maines. Update! We are moving in a different direction, we will still have our Maine Anjou cow's and breeding Ma...ine Anjou (Full French and Pure), but will no longer be registering our cattle with the Society. We will only have Commercial stock now. We are now crossing some of our Maine Anjou girl's with Simmental and Mandalong Bull's. Here are some photo's of our young Bull and Heifer crosses, 5 month's old, they look fantastic. Maine Anjou(Bull) crossed with our Simmental Cow's. We will be crossing this Heifer and our Maine Anjou Heifer's with a Mandalong Bull, thank's to Clinton Leahy at Charlton Park Beef Cattle, can't wait to see what she produce's. Our young Bull has a way to go, but will be crossing him with some of our Maine Anjou girl's. We are very excited with the new move. See more

15.01.2022 Well all our Maine Anjou and Hereford x Calves are gone, all but our Full French Bull, by Miroir. Had a great result, this little fella at 12 month's weighed in... at 480kg, grass fed and was still on this Mum, made $4.10 per kg. Alway's a sad day when they go, but we can't keep them all. Our Hereford x's did well to, 395kg @ $4.00per kg and 405kg @$4.10 per kg. Our younger stock ranged from 365kg to 367kg. See more

03.01.2022 How fast they grow! Just an update and some photo's from birth to today on our Full French Bull Kandina Miroir Sire: Miroir Imp. (Full French) and Dam: Uandi C...S Tallulah (Full French) . He is growing into a lovely Bull, now 15 month's of age, born May 2019. No grain, all grass fed. Lovely length with plenty of coverage, short in the leg making for more meat less bone. Last of his Sire in Australia, he maturing very nicely. See more

02.01.2022 A few of the calves this evening. Our chunky monkey looks like a bull already. Some head and bone on him. The others are Rowanberry Pizazz and Rowanberry Peony Rose. Little Peony Rose had a bad start but should hopefully catch up now as she is off a great cow with loads of milk.
