25.01.2022 FAQ #15 Q: Ive seen celebrities like Michelle Bridges starting exercise before 6 weeks, why does Kanga insist we wait? And should I be doing my own exercise regime at home even though Im not yet cleared for Kanga? A: Gentle core exercises (e.g. drawing your naval in to your spine and releasing) are safe to resume after birth as soon as you are feeling up to it see the article below. But please, dont push yourselves too early! We ask you to wait for clearance from your GP... (usually 8 weeks after natural and 12 weeks after c section) before commencing anything more than walking. You can do irreversible damage to your abdominal muscles if you are not careful. Read below about healing your abdominal muscles after pregnancy. http://midwiferytraditions.com//healing-abdominal-muscles/

25.01.2022 UPDATE: Its too wild . Please come and make up the class on Friday at 1pm at The Mary Davies Library or we will run a pop up class before the term ends. Sorry guys :( I know my Thursday Kangamummas are very committed...but class outdoors today might be pushing it? . Ladies we will give it another hour before deciding if its too wild!

24.01.2022 There are many ways to workout with your baby!! And todays class demonstrated them all . That was commitment - squatting while rocking the pram, lunging on the spot while holding bubs bottle up, doing repeaters while dodging your toddler with your leg, beginning and ending the class with baby poop, and yet we still had 3 sleeping angels . #mumlife #kangatrainingau #kangababy #manducaau #mumsnbubs #strongwomen <3

24.01.2022 Lovely ladies and babies - who is joining us tomorrow? We have two weeks left! We need to boost numbers at Thursdays class so please come along if you have been considering it :)

23.01.2022 Bit of mum-rated inspiration for tomorrow ladies - who can guess which track we are doing this week ? Thanks for the share Petrina : https://youtu.be/7lY4GB8Pmvs

23.01.2022 ITS KANGA TIME!!! Trials this week - its your chance to come and give it a go :D. Lets get moving an grooving with our babies close by (even if they do crawl / walk off during floor work!). Returning Kanga mummas - as usual only $5!!! Send me your song requests ;)

20.01.2022 FAQ #17 Q: Can I get back into exercise while I am still breastfeeding? A: Of course you can! There are few things to consider to protect yourself from mastitis which is why we recommend that you feed your little one 1hour to 30mins before Kanga class. (Empty boobies are a lot less prone to mastitis due to exercise!) Here are a few interesting articles for more info:... http://www.nurtureparentingmagazine.com.au/will-breastfeed/ http://kellymom.com//can-i-breastf/lifestyle/mom-exercise/

19.01.2022 FAQ #7 Q: What if my baby screams and I have to stop and feed / change him? A: We are all mums at Kangatraining, and know exactly what its like to have a grumpy or unsettled baby. You are free to stop at any time and do what you need to do! But from experience most babies are asleep on their Kanga-Mummas front or back within minutes!

19.01.2022 FAQ #14 Q: Can I bring my other children / toddlers to Kanga too? A: Yes you can! The wonderful thing about coming to kanga is that you dont need a crche! While your youngest is included in the workout, older toddlers and children are definitely welcome. They often grab and mat and a doll and participate in the class and have a wonderful time dancing to the music! Other kids relax with a colouring book in the corner. All our venues are enclosed and safe so you can focus on your workout without worrying about kids escaping.

19.01.2022 Bubs making it difficult for us today...and then sleeping like angels #mumlife #manducaau #kangatrainingau

19.01.2022 Well that's another kanga course done! Thanks for joining us ladies, and if you need to make up a class, please do so at one of the casual classes in the next few months :) #kangatrainingau #manducaau #kangajoey

18.01.2022 FAQ #9 Q: Why dont we do sit-ups at Kangatraining? A: Many women experience separation of their stomach muscles during pregnancy (known as DRAM or Diastasis recti). Rather than strengthening and flattening your stomach, Sit-ups or crunches actually work to pull these muscles FURTHER apart! This can result in future health complications and a bulge in the stomach. At Kangatraining, we gently work your core muscles to gradually draw the muscles together.

16.01.2022 FAQ #6 Q: I dont usually wear my baby. How will I know what to do in class? Will I be comfortable? A: We are here to help! We will show you how to put your baby in the Manduca correctly, and we can assist you during class if you have any questions or concerns. You are sure to be comfortable, as the Manduca is ergonomically designed for comfort for both mum and baby. ... http://www.manduca-baby-carrier.eu/manduca-description.html

16.01.2022 FAQ #11 Q: What if I find kanga too hard? I havent exercised in a long time A: Like most exercise classes, you get out what you put in. If you are looking to work up a sweat and have aching muscles the next day, I can help you do that! But if you are looking to get moving slowly and need to take a break here and there, I will also guide you. There are many options during the class and we have mums at all different levels. Kanga is designed for the postnatal body, so rest assured, if you are postnatal Kanga is for you.

08.01.2022 MANDUCA SIZE IT: These will be arriving to my door tomorrow (I hope!), so if you are eagerly waiting to get your hands on one - please let me know! they are perfect for bubs who are just getting too big for the newborn flap, but are still too small for the carrier on its own. See me to be fitted correctly :D

07.01.2022 FAQ #8 Q: Can I tandem carry my twins at Kangatraining? Or can I carry both of my children both under 4 years? A: Unfortunately no. Take a look at the link below about lifting. At Kanga, we work from the inside out and endeavour to heal the pelvic floor gradually. Carrying more than one child while exercising will not allow that slow gentle recovery we aim for. HOWEVER you are welcome to bring a friend for FREE to wear one of your twins/children!... https://www.pelvicexercises.com.au/safe-lifting/

05.01.2022 FAQ #13 Q: Im worried my baby and I will get too hot during summer while exercising at Kanga. A: Yes, we do get hot and sweaty at Kanga but with the right precautions you should both be comfortable during our 1 hour class (45 mins wearing time). Manducas are made of all natural breathable materials and will wick away excess sweat (thats why I wash them every week!). I recommend on hot days, dress baby in one layer or even just a nappy. Mummas should wear something cotton that will also absorb moisture. Check the hot weather safety tips below, and remember we have air conditioning! https://babycarrierindustryalliance.org/hot-weather-safety/

02.01.2022 FAQ #18 Q: Can I wear my baby forward (out) facing at Kangatraining? A: While exercising and baby wearing, your babys neck, back and hips need a lot of support. Forward facing unfortunately just doesnt offer enough. This article can give you more information.... https://thecozykangaroo.wordpress.com//8-reasons-why-you-/ See more

01.01.2022 After class snap! Lovely cha-cha today ladies #kangajoey #manducaau #kangatrainingau #mumsandbubsworkout

01.01.2022 ABDOMINAL BRACING Engaging the deep core muscles, not just the superficial abdominal muscles will help you gain strength from the inside out. Here are a few images to help: Make sure you engage the pelvic floor while you brace so as not to put excess pressure on the pelvic floor.

01.01.2022 Wonderful workouts this week! Getting moving after having a baby has never been so much fun #kangatrainingau #kangababy #strongwomen #mumsandbubs #postnatal
