25.01.2022 UPDATE ON 5 APRIL: if you like this video, and feel able, please contribute to the charity that we are donating all our revenue to, which is the World Health Or...ganization COVID-19 Solidarity Fund: https://www.facebook.com/donate/1564752357011737/. Facebook will match what you give. You can find a few more family antics at: https://www.youtube.com/c/MarshFamilySongs ORIGINAL MESSAGE ON 29 MARCH: This is the last one we are going to do on a lockdown theme, but it felt very apt. And it might be just in time to cheer up some friends and family who have had - or are about to have - birthdays, all by themselves. Decided to include a bit of the intro so that you can see what kind of madness Danielle Marsh and I would be dealing with, if we didn't occupy them with music making...Hope everyone out there is doing okay.

15.01.2022 How can we make our rehearsals as safe as possible? So you’ve decided to continue with rehearsals at the moment. While we can’t help with uncertainty you must b...e facing, we can provide some tips to try to help keep your cast as healthy and safe as possible. Implement mandatory handwashing before rehearsal. Sing as you wash. It probably won’t feel odd by the end of this week and it is a great preventative measure. Have hand sanitizer on hand, if you can get it. See if you can find alternatives for kissing scenes. Rehearse intimate scenes sparingly. (Going against all the advice we usually give) Have a red card policy for actors/crew members who turn up unwell or even ‘under the weather that sends them home. I suggest making two physical cards and putting them in the director and stage manager’s kit. Mine would say We love you but go home, but a friend working on A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum suggested that a quote from the show, Unclean, Unclean, might be appropriate. If you have them and the team know, you won’t need them Have a No blame, no shame policy for actors, musicians and crew who call in sick. Try to cut out our (lovely) tendency to hug and kiss everyone as well as banning handshakes. Curtseys and bows? Jazz hands? Find a greeting for your show. Look at your planning schedule. Don’t call people unless they are not ABSOLUTELY necessary. Can you split rehearsals with (for example) chorus in one venue with the choreographer, principals in another with the director and MD? Can you reduce rehearsals or have longer rehearsals, fewer days? Encourage everyone to bring their own cups for tea and coffee. Open windows and doors and allow people to wait outside between scenes if it is warm. We would love to hear other ideas below.
