25.01.2022 Wow!! A wonderful news! hopefully, I will see you all as soon as our original clinic is ready at 33 Cairns St, Kangaroo Point

23.01.2022 I can’t believe half on November has already passed. It’s a seasonal post here again. The photo credit is to my dear kindergarten friend, Masa in Japan. While the beautiful place where I’m living at now, Brisbane QLD Australia has only two seasons, Summer and not-so-summer, Japan has incredibly vivid 4 seasons. ... Now is the time all the trees change their leaves when the autumn is getting deeper towards the brutal winter. This is when you can see incredibly breath-taking colours in the mountains. Masa took these wonderful pictures at our very local Shrine where all the locals visit with their various reasons, for instance for wishing the best of lack on the New Year’s Day, being prayed for the healthy life when a baby was born and atc. My heart is there watching the footpath that is covered by coloured leaves, feeling the air that just started becoming crispy in the morning and etc while lying in the backyard in my togs

23.01.2022 Cherry blossoms are now fully blooming at my home town in Japan. Photo credit to my dear friend from kindergarten who is still living in the same suburb in my home town. So precious. #happyjoblesstherapistday6 #cherryblossom #spring #japan

22.01.2022 Good morning, everyone. apology for my silence even after the announcement that the qualified massage therapy became an essential service in QLD. I was talking to some fellow therapists, my clients and making my decision. ... I am re-starting my service from MONDAY 11th MAY with a limited number of appointments. However. We have big trouble with our clinic in Cairns St, Kangaroo Point. I need to organise a special arrangement until the middle of July. For bookings, please contact me directly. Ring or text to 0411 380 986 email to: [email protected] Please note that the online booking system is not available until July. looking forward to chatting with you soon.

22.01.2022 Good article to read for awareness of lymphoedema. Lymphoedema practitioners in physiotherapist & OTs in the hospital settings and Remedial massage therapist in the private settings (because we, RMT usually arent involved in working in the hospital environment) work slightly differently, yet, the skills and the knowledges regarding treating lymphoedema should be the same as long as the practitioners had trainings through the courses that ALA recognises and keep going with CPEs. For me, staying being compassionate is the key as a practitioner. We all should work together

22.01.2022 A Post-Operative treatment for "Mini Tummy Tack". This client had her procedure in the middle of June, and now its about 6weeks post-op. Shes still carrying lots of fluid, especially above the surgical line. I now am allowed to start the scar tissue management treatment as the suture is properly healed. Below the naval, the fluid is usually drained into the inguinal nodes area. But because of the surgery, the suture just above the pubis became a great obstacle for the flu...id to get drained down. Thats why the fluid is accumulated above the surgical line. I am going to keep loosening the fibrotic tissue along and around the suture for the fluid to go across the suture. Because its a new scar/ trauma, this can be possible. Thats why the post-operative treatment is very important for the smooth and nice recovery. I tried to remove the fluid with MLD followed by applying Lymphtape this way for today, but I might apply the tape a bit different way as the fibrotic tissue loosening at the scar. Please consider organizing a series of MLD for the recovery as a part of your entire surgical procedures.

19.01.2022 Ive been treating many clients, including new, women and men, for the post-operative recovery since I fully came back at work. The surgeries includ; Lipo suction, Lipo suction and transferring the fat in the different body parts, abdominoplasty, breast reconstruction, breast reduction and etc. ... Everybody recovers differently but reducing swelling as soon as possible is one of the big keys for the smooth recovery. You dont want to have too much fibrotic tissue which can be tricky to remove. Please consider a series of MLD as a part of your recovery journey. You will feel better to get the swelling down with MLD too.

18.01.2022 From Monday 20 July I will be fully back at the clinic at 33 Cairns St, Kpnt See you soon!!!!!

17.01.2022 This is a very tricky and challenging time with a great uncertainty. Here, I am sharing the update the guideline and information of coronavirus (COVID-19) and as it relates to those with lymphedema and other lymphatic diseases from Lymphatic Education and Research Network. https://lymphaticnetwork.org//LSN_LERN_Covid19_Guidelines_

16.01.2022 My business is still operating as usual at this stage with good hygiene, especially hand hygiene, and I decided to use personal protective equipment as the association (Australasian Lymphology Assocoation) ensures. Im feeling extremely grateful for all my clients who are still wanting their treatment with me and also feeling extremely responsible for protecting them. Please keep an eye out this space. Ill update if any changes occurs. #covid_19 #operatingbusiness #goodhygiene #handhygiene #mld

16.01.2022 How do you want to manage your lymphoedema, Lipoedema or Lipo-Lymphoedema? A regular MLD with the certified therapist, exercise in the water, compression and skin care ...those are the golden tools for managing the situation, but having gadget, like pneumatic compression pump at home can be a great help. I have a set of Oapl Lympapress, pants and sleeve at the clinic so that you can try them how you feel. I can also organise your order if you like. Oapl is usually pretty go...od with the shipping. Your order can be delivered within one week. Warmer days are coming up. Gear yourself up!!! Yet!! Just don’t forget. My Vodder hands do the better job #lymphoedema #compressionpump #lymphapress #oapl #lymphapants

16.01.2022 On a beautiful sunny winter day, I got my room at the clinic ready with some help. 2 more days. Ill be fully working at the clinic in Kangaroo Point. 15.01.2022 Recovery progression. This generous client with Lipo-Lymphoedema (Lipoedema + Lymphoedema) who has gone through her liposuction surgery with Dr Lekich agreed to share her recovery journey here. I have seen her since early February for pre-operation treatment, followed by a series of post-operation treatment. I saw 5 times after the operation in 2 week+. ... As you can see, shes recovering incredible well. Just some extra fluid accumulation inside of L elbow and I need to concentrate on there. No fibrosis formation so far. She wears BioFlect sleeve with shoulder wrap full-time. #lipoedema #lymphoedema #lipolymphoedema #liposuction #postop #recovery #swelling #bruise #mld #physiokey #lymphtape #lymphaticdrainage #workingtogether

15.01.2022 All the equipment was moved away from our Main St clinic this morning. Grateful for my colleagues support. We definitely reopen at our original Cairns St clinic when allowed. #happyjoblessthepistday3 #clinic #movingclinic

14.01.2022 Swelling is closely related to the venous system. I thought it was interesting to watch this video about the vein in the leg so am sharing here https://youtu.be/jZ-U-2v9X6U

13.01.2022 The last day of Winter today. The first day of Spring tomorrow. And the full moon is coming up on Wednesday. Have a great week, everyone. ... 12.01.2022 This is certainly one of things that I can do while I have time! I love MOOC.orgs online courses, particularly ones of University of Tasmania. They all are free! #happyjoblesstherapistday2 #onlinecourses #learning #deepeningtheknowledge #keepgoing #positiveattitude #covid_19

12.01.2022 Dear all my clients The Main St clinic is closed until further notice due to the current Covid19 situation. In fact, we are going to re-open our door at out original clinic in Cairns St when we are allowed to go again!! ... I extremely miss my time at the clinic. I honestly love the time with my clients. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns and questions regarding, e.g. self MLD, pump settings or anything! 0411 380 986 [email protected] Lets stay at home and stay safe, everyone

11.01.2022 This week is the Wound awareness week. The objective of the 2020 campaign is to spread awareness of what wounds are, who is at risk, what someone should do if they have a wound that wont heal. (Wound Australia; https://www.woundsaustralia.com.au//Wound_Awareness_Week.a)... Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)and compression therapy can be a great help. Please consult with your medical professionals and with their permission, consider having a regular MLD as a great tool for smooth/ quicker healing. It can boost up your immunity, remove excessive fluid and reduce inflammation and pain. It helps heal the wound from inside to outside! (Picture: A bad infection after the breast reconstruction. We started series of MLD with her Drs permission once the acute stage has passed. Weekly MLD and having the wound nurse visited her everyday have making good progress for healing.

09.01.2022 I promise that I will do my best to keep the hygiene level high, so that my clients feel safe. The clinic is operating as usual.

09.01.2022 SELF MLD I have been receiving some enquires from the both existing and new clients to ask whether Im still operating my business. I am sorry but I am not... I know they need MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) for managing their ... Lymphoedema in the limbs and other body parts Swelling after operations Pain in the joint from, e.g. RA and any other autoimmune diseases general wellbeing and I have been concerning for them not to be able to receive treatments. But you can do Self-MLD at home. I put a couple of diagrams here about the lymphatic system and procedures of self-MLD. You dont need to know everything but knowing how it works can help to perform your self-MLD better. This is general information only. Please mind that this may not be applied if you have some complications in your lymphatic system from, e.g. surgical removal of lymph nodes, received radiation therapy, surgical histories in the abdomen area and etc. In that case, different ways need to be applied to get the fluid drained, depending on the individual conditions. Please contact me if you have any questions. I am happy to help. 0411 380 986 [email protected] or please leave your message here.

07.01.2022 Tennis Elbow = Lateral Epicondylitis I bet youve heard of Tennis Elbow or you have had it before. It is an inflammatory reaction at the tendons from forearm muscles attached on the outside of the elbow, and its usually caused by repetitive movement. So its an overuse injury. I have currently been experiencing this painful condition since 2 weekends ago when we went fishing!!... Fishing from 9am till about 5pm. I was desperate to get some legal-size ones, but we didnt have fishing God this day. As a result, I got this painful condition from a thousand-time-casting to get no fish Its so painful and its actually swollen. painful when turning the doorknob. painful when reaching out ANYTHING painful when picking up ANYTHING painful when opening the car door painful when brushing my hair cannot turn the lid of jars cannot squeeze tomato sauce cannot shake the dressing YOU know what I am talking about if you had it before? But this is my first time to have this bad one. Treatments for tennis elbow include massage the elbow extensor muscles to release the tension MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) to reduce the inflammatory reaction and excessive fluid anti-inflammatory medication Low Level Laser therapy/ PhysioKey therapy and rest (how?) moderation in activities/ actions Bring all the tool on!!! Its certainly getting better but is still there...... hope I can get rid of this soon.

07.01.2022 Message from Kelly, the exercise physiologist.

06.01.2022 One of my clients shared this with me the other day. (Pics with her permission) My lymphtape work for her lymphoedema is in the family calendar, and its for March which is Lymphoedema Awareness Month How cool is that

05.01.2022 I am trying out Sigvariss compression socks MICROFIBER SHADESon my longest day today. The pressure dosage of this product is equivalent to Class1 (15-20mmHg), but it should be good enough to help prevent tired and heavy legs at the end of the day for the people without any major complications. Fun colours and patterns are available $49.95 per a pair.

05.01.2022 When I get some spare time at clinic, this is what I do. Making chip bags. Just cut up the form and create bumpy sheets. They can be used for helping break fibrotic in the local tissue and push persistent local oedema away, sticking them underneath the compression garment or bandages. Youve heard of Mobiderm, right? ... This is homemade version of it. Small but works really well #lymphoedema #marchislymphoedemaawarenessmonth #chipbags #mobiderm #compressionsocks #compressionsleeves #mld #cdt

04.01.2022 This is it. After the Prime Minister announced last night, I decided to close my clinic for a while from tomorrow, Thursday the 26th March 2020. I am extremely sad. ... I will keep you informed here about my return. Till then, please stay home if possible and stay safe, everyone.

04.01.2022 I received this compression Bra from one of my clients who had breast lymphedema. She said she doesn't need it any more and wants to donate for someone who needs it. https://www.erilan.com.au//copy-of-anita-lymph-o-fit-front It's a good condition as you can see. Size is as the pic says and please refer the sizing chart in their website as I attached above. It has got additional bust support. There are "dots" everywhere inside the bra which are supposed to give micro-massag...e effect to help reduce the fluid. Please contact Kaori to 0411 380 986 or [email protected] #compressionbra #lymphofit #lbreastymphoedema

04.01.2022 hope you are well, everyone. I sincerely apologise for my silence. I have been having big trouble with the clinic as I previously announced but now I can officially tell you that ... I will be available from Monday 20th July at our original clinic at 33 Cairns St, Kangaroo Point. Its still more than a month away from now, but I am already super excited about my return to the clinic. Yes, Its still away, but I am taking bookings. Please contact me by phone, text or email. 0411 380 986 [email protected],.au Online booking is not open just yet. I will stop the back-to-back bookings when I get back to the clinic in July, having 10min in between the appointment for good hygiene practices. QLD is doing very well regarding covid19 and more restrictions are supposed to be lifted early July. Though It has been a tough time for me not to have a proper workplace, even after we became an essential worker in May, reopening the clinic in July may not be a bad idea after all. I feel much safer to provide my services. Yet, I missed so many opportunities to see new clients during this shut-down time. People whom I missed and people who have patiently been waiting for my return, I apologise for this inconvenience. But we will get there!!! During this quiet time, I entered in Lymphoedema Association of Qlds Snap&Win competition. My creative isolation photo was of the practice of Lymph tape. A lot of my clients know how much I like this taping for drainage purposes and how effective the taping is. And....I WON the prise!!!!! I havent won anything for ages and this fantastic surprise cheered me up for sure. Thank you, LAQ! hope this turns not-so-fantastic-year-of-2020 around! Chat soon, everyone!

03.01.2022 Online booking is now ON!!!! I just opened the online booking system back on!!! Click ... https://my.powerdiary.com//067ff5fb-f55b-40d2-afd7-649417d If you are after a 90min for either an initial appointment or an extended appointment, please contact me on 0411380986.

03.01.2022 March is Lymphoedema awareness month. Youll see a lot about it here this month

02.01.2022 An interesting story from Denise, the OT specialised in Breast Cancer Recovery. Building a trusting relationship between the patient and the therapist is important. Opening up each other and working together can bring a better outcome. I have treated old injuries with Vodder MLD technique. The cases include having old plate at the fractured ankle, pain/sensitivity & swelling after removing the plates and bolts and etc. ... The body can hold memories and even emotions. A simple and gentle treatment sometimes works better than forceful treatment, depending on the situation. Have a nice day

02.01.2022 My last day at Main Street clinic. I was so grateful to have 7 clients booked in on my last day. We had lots of good laughs. So good When...no one knows when... we are allowed to reopen the business, its gonna be at our original clinic at Cairns Street, Kangaroo Point. Now, thats something I look forward to I felt like dropping at the pub to cheer myself with a nice and cold beer when finished packing up, then I realised no pubs are open. Bahaha. We certainly are liv...ing in the very different world now. I decided to run my new project to stay positive during my forced sedentary holiday on my insta Stay tuned #finishoff #thelastday #packingup #jobless #remedialmassagetherapist #lymphoedematherapist #positiveattitude #itiswhatitis #staypositive See more

01.01.2022 If you have Lipoedema or Lipo-Lymphoedema and decided to pursue the surgical solution, I can support your pri and post liposuction operational journey. This client had a touch-up Liposuction 11 months after her initial Liposuction for her lipo-lymphoedema. Done from above the knee down to the ankle bilaterally. ... She had very stubborn fibrosis at medial calf last time and same thing is happening this time again. We are more prepared from the previous experience, and shes been recovering very nicely. We both are happy with her progression. If you have a plan to have some plastic surgeries, cosmetic surgeries or any other procedures, please consider having series of MLD (Manual Lymphatic Ddainage) as an essential part of recovery. It can reduce swelling and bruises dramatically.

01.01.2022 I had a lovey meeting with Jeanie at #traceygprostheticsandlingerie at Easy Brisbane. When they were at the back of Wesley hospital, I have met both Tracey and Jeanie a several years ago, but now, they are in East Brisbane and are only 5 min away from my clinic!!! Gold!! The reason why I wanted to talk with them was because they can supply good quality post-op compression garments which both my clients and I have found it difficult to find good and appropriate one! Now Im ...so relieved to know that I can refer my clients to them. See Jeanie at Tracey G at 967 Stanley St East, East Brisbane. Ph: 0466 828 143 Email: [email protected] Web: Tracey.com You can order the items online, but if you are not sure, I recommend you to go and visit the shop. Jeanie is very experienced in this industry.
