21.01.2022 Course in Aurukun is underway and going great. The PDR on the way up to Aurukun needs some big work done on it but we arrived safe and sound after 2 days of travel. Straight into it with the Kapani participants doing some team building skills and problem solving exercises whilst getting muddy and hands on experience

18.01.2022 Last but definitely not least. Eric and Tim locating a historic marker in the bush. It’s findings like this that give pause for reflection. How can we learn from the past, to make a better future for community. This marker is roughly a 60 year old from Comalco days.

16.01.2022 Kapani seeks your help, to raise 50k to acquire a kit home, to build a small house on traditional land to be used as our first training and accomodation hut. Kapani will create a permanent training site where incarcerated indigenous men, can return to country, learn work skills taught by the Kapani defence veterans, to create futures for indigenous men that don’t include jail and unemployment. Those that know the work of Kapani, know we are cutting edge and deliver outcomes, ...with minimal funds, and maximum heart. As soon as we generate enough funds to acquire the kit home, we will truck it to the site near Aurukun, and we will work with local men to build it and fit it out for use. Our initial aim to to build a camp that houses at least ten indigenous men and four veteran instructors. If you would like to contribute directly to a project that will reduce unemployment, increase skills, decrease the over representation of indigenous men within the prison system, and bring back to community an essential component of the communities capacity to practice LORE and create pride, please contribute to our fighting fund. 06.01.2022 Kapani had a great mid week last week catching up at the incredible Battlecamp site. What a privilege to be involved with such an amazing group of men and women. Thank you Uncle Rich and family for the invite. Watch this space for exciting events unfolding as we speak

04.01.2022 Today in Aurukun the Kapani Warrior Program Participants started with a Kim’s game which is an activity designed to test the memory of every participant. A tarp is laid on the ground with 10 different items on it which the men have to try to remember. The items are covered back up again and another exercise is carried out straight away. The next exercise we went straight into was a trailer push around a couple of blocks in Aurukun where the participants had to work together a...s a team. This was carried out with simulated injuries along the way making the trailer tough to push around. When we got bock to the compound after the trailer exercise the men had to remember what was hidden under the tarp in the Kim’s game. They did an amazing job remembering every item and describing them to a tee. After this we carried out some cognitive skills exercises which we all had a lot of fun and laughs. A great day today which was full of incredible achievements and outcomes by the participants. See more

02.01.2022 This is a great program

02.01.2022 We had a great time with a challenging exercise which involved getting the men to work together as a team and problem solve. The scenario set out was the men had to get supplies from one side of a river to the other without touching the water or getting the supplies wet. We used water jerries and ropes to achieve the outcomes needed in this exercise. We also followed this up with some basic first aid training on snake bites and fractures.

01.01.2022 One of the Aurukun track maintenance teams, pausing for a photo opportunity. Competing another great effort with the glencore projects.
