21.01.2022 BIDYADANGA COMMUNITY, FRASIER DOWNS STATION AND COASTAL QUARANTINE AREA CLOSURE www.ktla.org.au The Karajarri Traditional Lands Association would like to remind the Broome Community that Bidyadanga Community, Frasier Downs Station and all coastal areas (except Port Smith Lagoon) are off limits due to the WA State Government Community closure rules. ... Please note Rangers will be patrolling and liaising with Bidyadanga Police. This in the interest of protecting Bidyadanga residents and Karajarri Traditional Owner families.
20.01.2022 Birramungan Native Title is shared between 3 groups; Karajarri, Yawuru and Nyikina. The applicants from three tribes met in Perth to get their Native Title determination handed to them. KTLA representatives are Shirley Spratt, Mervyn Mulardy, Rene Hopiga and Del Roe who travelled to Perth. Congratulations!!

15.01.2022 KARAJARRI TRADITIONAL LANDS ASSOCIATION NEW VACANT POSITION SENIOR RANGER PUNTURRPUNTURR (PORT SMITH)... Fulltime position (Fixed Term contract to 30 Jun 2021) Annual Base Salary ($60,000 to $80,000 per annum) Aboriginal identified position & Karajarri people encouraged to apply Karajarri Traditional Lands Association (KTLA) is a Registered Native Title Body Corporate representing Karajarri Native Title Holders. Through the Corporation Board of Directors and staff, the Karajarri Ranger and Indigenous Protected Area programs we manage more than 32,000 square kilometres of jurarr (coastal areas) and pirra (inland areas) in the southwest Kimberley. The Corporation work is directed by our Elders, Cultural Leaders and Traditional Owners in line with the corporation vision: Karajarri people living well, on Country. The Senior Ranger Punturrpunturr (Port Smith) position will assist the KTLA in the development and management of the Karajarri Tourism Zone (KTZ). The KTZ is located in and around the Port Smith and Gourdon Bay area, within the Karajarri Indigenous Protected Area. The position will be required to work across weekends and holidays within the tourism season to help patrol, maintain assets (e.g. walking trails) and improve amenity within the area. The position will also have a role in helping to implement key projects such as the Karajarri Tourism Strategy and Punturrpunturr concept plan. 02.01.2022 Karajarri Traditional Lands Association close of Office during the Christmas and New Years break will be. Friday the 20th December, 4:30PM and reopens on 13th January, 8:00AM in 2020.
