06.01.2022 We have had a few folks concerned about the cafe being closed on Saturday. If you are booked in for a Saturday night stay then your site will have a reserved sign on it so you can pull into your site even if the Cafe/ office is closed. After sundown on Saturday evening, the cafe will be opened for a while so you can pay or get what you need from the shop. Any bookings for Friday nights need to be paid prior to 5pm Friday, by credit card, over the phone on 99812000. If you a...re arriving after 5pm then you will have a reserved sign on your site with your name on it. I hope this clears up some of the questions that you might have.

06.01.2022 Lane way leading to the sheds this morning.

06.01.2022 I have been watching the bird life through my window this afternoon. Willie Wagtails, magpies, butcher birds, minors, crested pigeons, mudlarks and this bird... looks to me like some kind of lark or song bird. I did not hear it call but it hops like a kangaroo along the ground and appears to be eating insects. Would love to know what it is, so please comment if you know.

05.01.2022 Karalundi Morning sunrise in sequence. Just breath taking.

03.01.2022 Welcome to our beautiful new addition. A rainbow bee eater is installed in his (or her) new glass cabinet. This bird is not for sale and is permitted to be displayed at Karalundi. This bird was found on the grounds of Karalundi and we praise God for His wonderful creation.

WHAT TO DO -Stay inside and shelter in the strongest, safest part of your house or evacuation centre. -Keep your emergency kit with you. -Stay away from doors and windows, and keep them closed. -Stay indoors until the ALL CLEAR is given by authorities. ---AND--- A BLUE ALERT is current for people in or near Beacon, Cunderdin, Kellerberin, Koorda, Merredin, Mt Marshall, Nungarin, Southern Cross and Trayning in the Goldfields Midlands. The threat has passed but take care to avoid the dangers caused by damage. CYCLONE DETAILS Tropical cyclone Seroja continues to move inland towards Dalwallinu The core of tropical cyclone Seroja is moving inland towards Dalwallinu. Wind gusts to 170 km/h were reported near Kalbarri during landfall, but the cyclone has now weakened to category 2. Seroja is travelling at around 65 kilometres per hour, and significant impacts are expected to extend inland through to Wheat Belt communities overnight. The cyclone will weaken as it moves further inland on Monday but is still likely to result in damaging wind gusts, particularly to the north and east of the track, and heavy rain close to the track, as it moves through the eastern Wheat Belt, southern Goldfields and South East Coastal district. A Severe Weather Warning is current for areas to the southeast of the Tropical Cyclone Warning area. Hazards: Destructive winds with gusts to 150 kilometres per hour extend 90 kilometres east of the centre of the cyclone. Destructive gusts above 125 kilometres per hour may extend inland as far as a line from Dalwallinu to Paynes Find overnight, including Morawa. Towns in this area very rarely experience wind gusts this strong. Gales with gusts to 100 kilometres per hour extend 150 kilometres from the centre of the cyclone to the east, and extend west to the coast around Geraldton. Gales will extend further inland into the southern Gascoyne and northern Wheatbelt overnight. Seroja is moving fast, so weather conditions will deteriorate rapidly as it approaches. Heavy to intense rainfall and flash flooding are likely close to the track of Seroja during the remainder of Sunday evening and Monday. Even though the tropical cyclone has crossed the coast, abnormally high tides could still cause minor flooding at the coast between Cape Cuvier and Jurien Bay. The threat of serious flooding has passed. Dangerous surf and beach erosion may still be occurring between Denham and Jurien Bay. ROAD CLOSURES AND CONDITIONS The following roads are closed: -Great Eastern Highway from Tammin to Coolgardie -Bindoon-Moora from Bindoon to Moora -Shark Bay Road from North West Coastal Highway to Denham -Monkey Mia Road from Denham to Monkey Mia -North West Coastal Highway from Carnarvon to Geraldton -Brand Highway from Dewar Road to Geraldton -Midlands Road from Moora to Brand Highway -Indian Ocean Drive from Lancelin Road to Brand Highway -Geraldton-Mt Magnet Road from Mount Magnet to Geraldton -Great Northern Highway from Muchea to Mount Magnet EVACUATION CENTRES The Department of Communities has set up three evacuation centres: -Irwin Recreation Centre, 1 Ridley Street, Port Denison -Carnarvon Civic Centre, Camel Place, Carnarvon -Shark Bay Recreation Centre located on Francis Road, Denham People who are self-isolating or quarantining due to COVID-19 should find alternative suitable premises and wear a mask. If this is not possible, proceed to the evacuation centre and identify yourself to centre staff immediately on arrival. Please take any essential items such as medications and identification to the evacuation centre. Pets (except recognised assistance animals) are not allowed inside evacuation centres for health and safety reasons, so you should make alternative arrangements for them in a secure and safe place within a household.
