04.01.2022 Sanchin - 3 Battles or 3 Conflicts () was the first kata taught in the Goju Ryu syllabus, while it is easy to learn, it is a kata many karateka are yet to master. Instructors test your balance and strength by performing shime. Properly performed, all muscles are flexed and tensed throughout the kata through the use of Ibuki breathing- making Sanchin the most strenuous kata.
