15.01.2022 "The most beautiful melody in the world"? I certainly think so. And the text of 'Danny Boy' are the words of a Father to a Son going out into the world. So a nice wee Fathers Day gift to my own dear Dad Herbie McLearnon! Happy Father's Day!

12.01.2022 Marcel Moyse Monday! After recording Study No. 1, I quickly realised that for me to do these Studies justice AND put together the actual video, I will need much... more time than I currently have. Luckily, my darling wife Tomomi Matsuo offered to step in. Not only is she a brilliant flute player, she is actually the perfect person for the job. Tomomi studied with Trevor Wye for two years and was his assistant teacher at several flute festivals and courses around the world and her pictures can even be found in a few of his books! So she will now be taking over the reins, with me behind the camera. ------------------ If you haven’t done so already, be sure to check out Trevor Wye's anecdote and initial notes which you can find under the description in the first video. It will also help you to understand some of the things he was referring to in his instructions below. ------------------ Trevor Wye: No. 2 - The lips hardly move for the first two notes resulting in a smoothness of tone: in the second bar, it should sound the same. [69] The third bar is harder. Don’t anticipate the octave. Variation - refer to Study No. 1 [69] ------------------ Performed on an Amadeus AF680 with Classic Headjoint from our Intermediate Range, made by Wm. S. Haynes Co. www.flutesandflutists.com/product/haynes-amadeus-af680/
