16.01.2022 This is my artwork for the annual Mental Health Art Works! exhibition at Gosford Regional Gallery and Edogawa Commemorative Garden which opens on Friday, 2.30PM. My work is entitled, Leela, which in Hindu mythology means play and is the Game of Self Knowledge. Discovering Leela in Katmandu has greatly influenced how I view the world. In 1999, the inaugural Mental Health Art Works! Exhibition was held at the Gosford Regional Art Gallery. It has become an annual event to cel...ebrate Mental Health Month on the Central Coast. Mental Health Art Works! is an art exhibition with a difference. It provides people whose lives have been affected by mental illness the opportunity to use art as a form of expression and engages the community in a better understanding of mental health issues. The purpose of the Mental Health Art Works! Exhibition is to bring mental health into the light and celebrate creativity; providing greater awareness of mental health and celebrate the skills and abilities of people with a lived experience. Each year artists of all ages exhibit a diverse range of artworks in various mediums including painting, sculpture, drawings, ceramics, photography, and writing. The artworks provide a unique viewing experience for exhibition visitors.
