22.01.2022 Christmas will soon be here , yes I know its at least three months away, but we are taking bookings now for the holidays ....as our loved regulars know we book out very quickly owing to only taking 20 dogs at a time......all booster vaccinations must have been administered at least two weeks prior to boarding Please be aware we do not mix dogs for exercise periods unless specifically requested by the owners , every dog has a separate inside kennel for sleeping and is not asked to share....unless with a family member . All meals are served individually......

21.01.2022 COVID Update - Effective Immediately From the Victorian Department of Health and Human Resources: Any Victorian, regardless of where they’re arriving from in NSW, will need to get tested and then quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in our state.... As I am sure you all understand this time of year is extremely busy for us. Our gate will now remain closed during our regular operating hours so anyone collecting or dropping off animals will need to telephone 0437851501 prior to arrival as for pickups we are obviously unaware where everyone has been holidaying. Anyone returning from NSW will need to organise with us prior, someone else to collect their animals or discuss alternate arrangements. NO EXCEPTIONS Thankyou in advance for your patience whilst these procedures need to be in place
21.01.2022 Max the curly x and Bailey the GSP .....the licking of the lips is because I have pigs ears in my pocket ......such well behaved beautiful dogs . So lovely to be able to welcome dogs back here. Maple syrup and weetbix biscuits baking .....
20.01.2022 Every few weeks I make dog biscuits for our guests to sample ,these are liver,cheese and oats......they smell different . I am running out of ideas as well ..I may have to go back to the tried and true peanut butter and honey ..

18.01.2022 Well this is why you have trouble contacting me on the mobile .....,whilst Telstra say it is only a problem for a short while this lack of service has been for a long time .....even messaging me is difficult ....if you find I haven’t returned your call or message , try here on this page as we have satellite and that works ....if I say I may as well be in the centre of Australia that wouldn’t be right, they have the best service there.... Very frustrating.

11.01.2022 We really love boarding dogs , many dogs love to come here. These two beautiful Goldies must have heard on the doggie grapevine how wonderful our kennels are.....along with the terrific treats and food they are given.... Teddy and Charlie decided to book themselves into the kennels at 3.45 AM this morning without prior warning ......luckily they had collars and tags with their names and current contact numbers so their worried owners could be notified....they had travelled quite a few kilometers .....

10.01.2022 Interesting article for those people who give their dogs bought treats, pigs ear etc Luckily we make our own, no preservatives, nothing added Just reading this article Please be aware all those who use pigs ears... Pigs ears and dogs treats represent a very real threat as these are coming in packed in ASF positive abs ,apparently ASF has been detected on the packaging yet the importation has not ceased , the Government keeps bleating about Free Trade - funny that in the 27000kgs of illegally imported meat detected at airports and in the mail the testing also showed many positives for FMD (Foot and Mouth) MLA were all over this and stopped trade , the pigs industry is not getting the same protection as the cattle and sheep industry , interestingly FMD is a treatable disease but is a barrier to trade , ASF is totally untreatable ,no vaccines no cure 100% herd destruction 3 month no stock ,lives for 2 yrs plus in environment ie in feral carcasses ,is carried by Kangaroo and Penguin ticks and flies and biting insects can be a vector in close range , to me it would be a no brainer to immediately stop all imports of meat products made in ASF affected countries including pet food ,because of substitution how do we even know whats used in many countries and passed of as another meat ie burgers - Lasagna in UK comes to mind and that was an EU country. ASF survives on boots ,clothing, car foot wells steering wheels door handles etc so inadvertantly you could bring a bit of ASF contamination home on you should you come in contact - say a discarded scrap of food in a picnic ground - far fetched - thats how it started in Europe. So it is a challenge that we must all take seriousy , the disease cost will be borne 50% producer/50% govt so loss of livelihood will follow. See more

06.01.2022 Our regional COVID restrictions have eased, some lovely visitors are expected in the next few days , so , baking was required. These ones are chicken, oat and cheese ......notice the taste tester at the top of the picture. He is waiting patiently...for the time being.

03.01.2022 Life goes on here at Keysteel , no boarding dogs at the moment because of the travel restrictions, so heaps of maintenance, lawns being mowed , concrete being laid .. dog biscuits being made all to keep busy ....I do miss your fur babies......stay safe Cheese and honey biscuits Pork and parsley as well...... My own dogs are taste testing ....no refusals so far .
