25.01.2022 We start Term 1 classes this week. If you or your child would like to start classes this year you can book in easily online - we have trial packs starting from $198 or Starter Packs (a pack of 10 lessons - individual or for small groups). 24.01.2022 So great to be back on the south coast of NSW last weekend and to run a singing workshop there too! We had a couple of young ones (10 and 13) and the rest adults - some choir members, some band members and one lady with a beautiful voice who has just started to sing (you can feel the joy that is coming through gaining new skills to support what is already there)...I think I will run one of the these 2 hour (starter) workshops in Melbourne again soon as everyone got so much ou...t of it...Please let us know if you like the idea - we could also run one in Sydney or Brisbane when I am next in town...message me at [email protected] to be put on the list! 23.01.2022 Hello all I know this is the singing school site : ) but thought I would let you all know that I will be performing soon in Melbourne! (So many people usually ask me after the event!) We are launching Song Balm at Midnight Sky in Fitzroy Melbourne on Saturday 18th May - a 7.15 arrival for a 7.30 start. Im humbled by the amazing people who are take brave steps forward doing something theyve either always dreamed of or to improve upon the skills they already have. Its alot of fun too! 12.01.2022 One or two last minute spaces left for the songwriting workshop this Saturday 22 June (at 2-4 pm) in Surrey Hills, Melbourne....so looking forward to hearing the snippets of ideas being brought into form by the students of all ages...always a magic day!.... Some further details: Our Songwriting Workshop is a great means of self expression for students in addition to being able to sing well its so important to build skills so you can create your own style and story. This wo...rkshop builds students confidence in songwriting in a very nurturing environment. Some of the skills and experiences students gain include: (i) guidance on where to start! (melody, lyrics, style, story)we start where you are - sometimes with the tiny essence of an idea and build the song up within the workshop. (ii) develop snippets of melodies, lyrics or song ideas you bring to the workshop and see your own songs come into form! (iii) hear the way other people have approached songwriting (iv) Karen and Nick will give suggestions on developing melody, when to bring in chord structure and how to develop lyric ideas. 11.01.2022 For anyone who will be by the south coast of NSW over Easter and has children aged 8-16 here are details about our upcoming songwriting workshop to be held at the beautiful Mountain View Farm in Tilba Tilba on Easter Saturday morning 31 March. So looking forward to the trip up there and meeting and being with the land and the locals! 03.01.2022 A short note with a big welcome to our new 2017 students! They all bring smiles to my face watching them learn new vocal skills, own their style and in some instances starting to write snippets of songs - SO great and affirming. Some of the adults are doing so well too (after a life long love of singing they have finally taken the plunge and developing their music is such a great self development tool as well). The younger students have such "oomph" and enthusiasm - so great to see - i just wanted to post a note and say how much I appreciate you all - so thanks Crystal, Noah, Evelyn, Eileen, Kiara, Coco and Ella! - karen x
