11.01.2022 Yep, that’s right. We don’t talk about inclusivity in our house. Instead, we practice it. Inclusion can be such a buzz word in today’s society. We have such h...igh expectations of inclusion to happen in our classrooms, and many criticize how and when it takes place. However, underneath all of this, we seem to have forgotten to practice inclusion at home. Maybe you have thought of course we are inclusive. But are you? What does an inclusive home look like? In our home all are welcome. Yep, that means the kids who are aggressive, the child who has meltdowns, the impulsive friend who can use bad language, the child with a diagnosis, and the child without one. In our house, we invite everyone to play. Oh, and birthday parties of kids we don’t know well. We go to those too. In our house, we make connections with as many kids as we can for playdates and parties. Our kids aren’t perfect and we don’t believe in only inviting kids over that are just like us.

09.01.2022 I was asked if Support Coordinators have to be NDIS Registered The answer: Support Coordinators do not need to be NDIS registered. However, the only way participants can link in with their preferred provider is to ask for their Support Coordination to be Plan Managed At your plan meeting, this should be asked of you: ... ‘How would you like your Support Coordination to be managed? If this question is not asked, then by default your Support Coordination will automatically become listed as being ‘NDIA-Managed.' Choice and Control In this case, participants are now restricted to NDIS-registered only providers, which greatly diminishes flexibility, choice and control over with whom they link. Support Coordinators do not need to be NDIS registered. However, the only way participants can link in with their preferred provider is to ask for their Support Coordination to be Plan Managed. Participants have an overall say during the development of their plan as they know their own individual needs and circumstances best. Participants and their representatives are their own strongest advocates. However, should they feel the need for additional support to get the plan right from the start, there are a number of specialized advocacy support services more than willing to assist. Let's talk if you are interested in been Plan Managed so you can have a choice of Support Coordinators 0480207068

08.01.2022 #NDIS is moving towards its expected size, just below half a million Australians. It has created an industry, moving towards ten thousand organisations who curr...ently provide care services (active providers) and who ensure NDIS participants have significant choice. This infographic summarises key participation data as at Sept 2020.
07.01.2022 Low cost assistive technology (AT) To assist participant access to supports and interpreting services which are now being delivered online, a temporary support item has been introduced so that participants can use capacity building funds to claim for low cost AT items to receive their funded supports and services. This includes items such as fitness equipment and smart devices.... The cost of a smart device should not exceed $750. A number of requirements need to be met before participants can use NDIS funds to buy low cost AT items including that purchases are in consultation with existing support providersrefer to the Price Guide for details. This applies from 30 April 2020 until 30 September 2020.

03.01.2022 Is your NDIS Plan up for review If you require a review and do not hear from your LAC then your plan will more than likely get rolled over .Call your LAC or contact NDIS and ask for a review due to change of circumstances if you need an increase in funds If you have been self managed and had enough with sorting and paying invoices then ask to become Plan Managed . You get to still control what service or business you use, BUT the Plan Manager looks after the finances of payin...g invoices for you If you are Plan Managed and want to change Plan Manager check with current plan Manager what is the notice of intent to finish with them. Look for a new Plan Manager and talk to them about starting. This is way easier if you do this as soon as you decide to change plan managers Any questions 0480207068
