25.01.2022 Council is inviting local artists to be part of a collaborative exhibition of works on postcards. We have packs of three postcards (each with one word on the front) that you can respond to in the medium of your choice. Once the work is created, simply pop the postcards into the mail and they will become part of an exhibition of artworks. A visual story of a strange and unpredictable year. If you would like a pack mailed directly to you, please send an email with your postal a...ddress to [email protected]. Or keep an eye out for stacks of packs in your local art-supporting shop or gallery. The project is part of Council's $2M COVID-19 Community Support Package.

21.01.2022 Nominations are now open for the 2021 South Gippsland Australia Day Awards. The awards are a great way to acknowledge peoples hard work and commitment to our community. There are two categories in 2021: - 2021 Citizen of the Year - 2021 Young Citizen of the Year... Normally there would also be a Community Event of the Year category to recognise events held during 2020 but as most events this year have been cancelled or postponed it was decided not to run this category in 2021. Selecting from such a limited field would be difficult and would be disappointing for the many organisers who were unable to proceed with their events due to COVID-19. Nominees will be acknowledged on Councils website and in local media, with winners to be announced at a celebratory dinner. You can submit a nomination at: www.southgippsland.vic.gov.au/australiaday
