24.01.2022 To my elderly clients: Do you need liquid hand soap or toilet paper? I have been able to get a small amount of TP and I can also refill your liquid soap bottles with Eco friendly hand wash. If you cannot get to the shops, or don't want to handle the crowds, I can deliver these items, along with other groceries. I am not charging a fee for this service, I am doing this to help my local community, just pay me back for any goods purchased.... Hold onto your liquid soap bottles so I can refill them. Or we can use another empty container such as washing-up liquid or a shampoo bottle, just wash them out well before we put the new soap in :) Message or phone me for further information and help. 23.01.2022 WOW - just look at all these books! After completing a bookshelf earlier this year, I had the chance to call by and see what the client had done with them. She has painted them a pretty teal colour to match her very colourful and quirky house, including adding sparkles to the paint! She has then spent many hours rearranging her books and artifacts to fill every bit of the shelves and she tells me she absolutely loves them :) I think they look wonderful too, do you?

21.01.2022 To all my clients, (and those who are yet to be), If you are needing supplies of food or other items and are finding it hard to get to the shops, (or just can't cope with the craziness of it all) - can you please contact me and I will do my best to deliver what you need in the Bunbury area. This is a free service and all you need to pay for is the goods I deliver. I am offering this as I do not want to see anyone feel isolated or lonely, particularly to my senior clients.... I can deliver without personal contact if you wish, or I can call in for a chat. https://www.facebook.com/karenscareandrepair/

21.01.2022 Hi to all my friends, I hope you had a wonderful Xmas, and by crikey......we still have New Year to go! But don't despair if you feel that you have not done all that you wanted to at your place - my garden and house has been a bit neglected too! Thank goodness for some cooler weather though. I have taken advantage of this weather by getting out into my own garden, have you? - post me some photos of your garden, I would love to see them. I am posting some of my own place for a... change. People see my photos and think I live on a big block - but I live in a unit with very little land - but what I do have has been used well (the previous owners did so much, that's why I love my place in Eaton) I have been putting off jobs for ages (no excuse really tbh). I'm not into the New Years resolution thing, but if I was it would be: - Clean my windows every 6 months to get the best outlook on life! - De-clutter - we have too much stuff in life (no, seriously we so do!) - Don't beat myself up so much when my place is a bit chaotic and messy. I am learning that this is how life goes sometimes and does it really matter? We are all so blessed to be living in the SW of WA - which is an awesome and beautiful place to live. Happy 2020 everyone! See more

20.01.2022 WEEDS! So it's that time of year that the weeds are getting out of control! So many of my jobs recently have been taming these weedie beasts! (Including my own garden haha) One of my recent jobs has been a front yard project; 2 visits later and the weeds are nearly gone and we have some yummy mulch down which is making the plants stand out and look amazing.... If you are suffering from weedie beasts in your garden please contact me so i can come and tame them! Mulch is from Hastie Wastie and I am impressed with the quality for an affordable price. So why mulch? - keeps moisture in soil, so less watering - protects plants (roots) from our harsh summer sun - keeps weeds at bay - improves soil as the mulch decays - adding nutrients to soil - looks great - makes great paths too and a cheaper alternative to other path alternatives

17.01.2022 Beautiful Leschenault Homestead on Australia Day: I am so grateful to be working in such splendid surroundings today, such as this heritage building from the 1840's; one of our oldest buildings in Bunbury no less! Each week I get to clean this magnificent building, and the gardens are so beautiful too! Even cleaning the old style windows is something special for me and how they used to build things over 170 years ago! The building is heritage listed and is a rare survival of ...early colonial settlement. It also has scientific significance due to it's building techniques that are no longer practiced. Can you see why I love my job? See more

17.01.2022 Our beautiful South West! I just spent the last few days working around Manjimup and it sure is a pretty area. I had horses, dogs, chickens, cats and kids to keep me company!

09.01.2022 Front porch project: This week I cleaned up this area, re positioned timber edges, weeded, layed weed mat, pavers and stones. I am happy with the outcome and it will now be easy to maintain too.

08.01.2022 Happy New Year to you all. I hope that all your NY resolutions are fulfilled! I have had such a lovely break over the last 2 weeks and I have been catching up with my family, friends and also the never ending list of jobs around my own house. (But also relaxing and rejuvenating my body ready for work again!) So....... tomorrow I am back into it and ready to tackle any job you have for me, so hit me up with your requests! I often get asked to do some unusual jobs around the ho...use and garden, and if I can do it, I will! If it's beyond my expertise I will tell you as I wish to provide 1st class customer service. (and If I can't help you I hope to recommend someone who can) Looking forward to seeing you in 2020. See more

08.01.2022 Perfect garden finish for quaint renovated house. This week I have been gardening most days and this great house, which has been so tastefully renovated in cool greys, just needed a little TLC in the front garden beds (which were mainly just sand and the plants were struggling). I applied clay soil conditioner and slow release fertiliser into sand, then weed mat and topped with black woodchip. The result was really stunning.

07.01.2022 Autumn Trimming, Karen says 'LET THE LIGHT IN!' Up the ladder again today; this time trimming lemon trees. Gee those thorns really get to you - I had a few scratches at the end of the day, but on the plus side, I smelled divine!! These lemon trees have been placed on the North side of the house to provide shade in summer and, at this time of year, they are pruned back to allow the winter light in to heat the house up - very effective. Contact me if you need any trees or bushes trimming ready for winter.

07.01.2022 Shaping and pruning today.... A pretty little garden to tidy up in Eaton. I trimmed the bushes, roses and creepers. It's still good weather to be outside and not too hot.

06.01.2022 Wall to wall shelving: One of my bigger projects this week was to build a fitted pine bookshelf for a client. It took quite a few hours to build, but was all worth it in the end. The client loves it and can't wait to put all her books on it!

06.01.2022 Want to get your garden ready for winter? Are you ready for the green waste collection? Message or call me for all your garden needs including trimming back bushes and small trees to let the winter light in! Remember all those little seeds off last years weeds? - Well they are all about to spring to life, so now is a great time to spray them while they are still small and stop them from getting a good hold for winter. I can take waste to the tip on my trailer or get you star...ted on a compost bin. I also do window cleaning - this will really make your house dazzle for those winter months! (Even cleaning the outside of the windows can make a huge difference to allowing more light in) My line of work is perfect for keeping social distancing.

04.01.2022 I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Thank you to all those that supported me over the last few months and entrusted me with their homes and gardens. I hope to see you again soon in 2020.

02.01.2022 In Cookernup today mowing lawns, trimming lemon tree, planting and relaying brick edging. Weather was finally dry enough to be outside.

02.01.2022 Front Garden Delight A front garden makeover today, and yes it was hot! (but worth it) Weeded area and trimmed bushes. I am pretty happy with the outcome though and now the garden beds are as splendid as the lovely timber house. The mulch really looks good and sets off the house so well.... So why mulch your garden beds? Mulch has many benefits for your garden including: suppressing weeds, retaining moisture in your soil, conditioning soil over time as it breaks down, keeps beds cooler in summer and also makes beds/paths look great. There are so many different mulches to choose from, so you need to think carefully which one is right for you. In this job owner asked for the Stanley Road tip mulch - job required 2 bucket loads. This is low cost at $22 a bucket load, but it can have a few bit of plastics through it and is not uniformed in size and has lots of 'compost/soil' in it - which the tip also sells separately. But for this house and a bush setting it is perfect and it will continue to condition and look after the soil for a long time.

01.01.2022 My job is so satisfying when I can see such positive results; but make no mistake, it is hard work and I put in 100% effort with every job. I guess that is why so many of my clients appreciate what I do, and this last week's job is no exception, such lovely people, (as most of my clients are!) The job entailed taming the wild garden of leaves, overgrown trees and bushes. This was right up my alley as I love this kind of work!
