22.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFO // Our hottest tips to make sure you have THE BEST experience: You must have a current park pass to enter Karijini National Park entry fee is not included in KE ticket prices. Bring cards AND cash to every event. Sometimes the EFT machine signals drop out, so have cash as a backup. There is no ATM within the event area or Karijini National Park. So bring cash with you!... Bring 18+ ID if you want to enter the bar and purchase alcohol at the Wed, Thurs and Sat evening events. Bring picnic lunch and dinners to non-tickets events. Guest lists will be at every event, so no need to print your tickets (save paper!) Days are hot - bring hats and sunscreen. Evening temps can be cooler - bring warm clothes. Thalu is an Australian childrens fantasy television series set to screen on NITV and ABC Me. The five-part series focuses on a group of indigenous children who undertake a journey to save their country from the threat of a mysterious dust. "When I got asked to volunteer and the Karijini Experience, I thought that it sounded great to be part of a team to showcase the Karijini National Park. I didnt realise what a life changing experience it would be and what a journey it was! Met so any awesome people, work was hard but the socialising was great, music was fantastic jam night was the best. I loved camping on the airstrip in my little tent and the food was amazing whod have known we would be so well looked after in the middle of nowhere! The whole event was so well organised and the program fantastic, so much to do. The scenery was so spectacular and Im so glad I got to be part of staying in the middle of it, it was inspiring for my art and my life. 02.01.2022 The critically-acclaimed documentary In My Blood It Runs was going to be featured at our Experience Film event In 2020, it will now be screened in July on ABC and ABC iview! Told through the eyes of charismatic 10-year-old Arrernte/Garrwa boy Dujuan and his family, the film charts the challenges Dujuan faces both in his school and on the streets of Alice Springs. In his community Dujuan is recognised as a child-healer and a hunter. He speaks three languages, yet despite his d...epth of wisdom and intelligence, Dujuan is failing in school and facing increasing scrutiny from welfare and the police. As he travels perilously close to incarceration, his family fight to give him a strong Arrente education alongside his western education. We walk with him as he grapples with these pressures, shares his truths and somewhere in-between finds space to dream, imagine and hope for his future. In My Blood It Runs reveals the complexities First Nations communities face negotiating colonisation whilst maintaining their cultural identities and practices through self-determination, the revitalisation of languages and connection to Country. It is a deeply moving insight into a side of Australia rarely depicted on screen.
