21.01.2022 Recently, Senior Health Professional, Cath transported an outreach Mumma and her new Bubba home from hospital after her C- section. Mum was super grateful for all the support Karinya has provided for her and her family. This included food parcels, transport, casework support, links and referrals to other support service. Mum especially expressed her thanks to Caseworker, Elissa. As this little crew were leaving the hospital they also met up with the woman's Hospital Social Worker, who also expressed her gratitude to Karinya and Elissa. Just so you know.. Mum and Bub are doing well at home, and continue to be supported in an outreach capacity.

19.01.2022 The COVID-19 pause in the Group Program did provide Nichola Crisp, our Program Coordinator, an opportunity to review the program and to develop a suite of new offerings, including a monthly lunch club, art program, and a health and wellbeing program. Here's to new beginnings!

16.01.2022 We'd like to give a big shout out to Stacy Morgan at Hive Nutrition for making the return of the Karinya House Group program so positive. Next Thursday is Stacy’s last session for 2020. One of the women at last Thursday’s session said I’ve never really enjoyed cooking, because I don’t really know how. It’s been fun learning about food and how to make it simple. I actually cook at home now. All of us at the Karinya Village are so appreciative of Stacy and all she has done... for us coming through to the ‘different’ side of Covid this year. Nichola, our Group Program Coordinator has said, Stacy Director of HIVE Nutrition, and volunteer at Karinya House, has dedicated her time every fortnight to teach both practical and theory components of nutrition to women who have become part of the Karinya Village over these past few months. Stacy has been and made such a positive impact to our Group, providing advice and knowledge with warmth, and with information for women to take home with them. Stacy and the women together have then enjoyed the cooking component, followed by savouring the results at lunch together as a Group. Simply Fabulous! Thank you!"

14.01.2022 A woman past returned with gifts recently She said she thought about what would be nice to receive. She remembers her time at KH fondly but also remembers it was a very difficult time. She included in each of the 10 gift boxes a tree of life pendant she wants each woman to know that things do get better. She also commented that "sometimes life gives you diamonds and sometimes it gives you spuds". She then went on to say "you can do a lot with spuds!". This lady is proud to be an independent woman, who is working and raising her 3 children.

14.01.2022 The Last Post has just finished reverberating around the offices and rooms here.. as the weekly casework meeting paused... #lestweforget2020 #wewillrememberthem

11.01.2022 Some lovely feedback to share on this lovely morning...As one of the women who has received support from Karinya House, thank you just does not seem enough. My gorgeous baby is now 19 and is flourishing, studying her dream degree at uni. The wonderful staff at Karinya House helped not only with my pregnancy and birth but also in reinstalling some of the confidence I had lost. I could not have pictured being where I am today, happily married with a successful career, a wonder...ful daughter, but that is where I am. So thank you for the amazing work that you do. I will never forget what Karinya has has done for us. - K
