25.01.2022 August 24th to 28th is School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS) Recognition Week. Today, we start by celebrating our wonderful office staff, who are often the first introduction a family will have to our school. THANK YOU!

24.01.2022 Today is Show Us Your Colours Day! For a gold coin donation, our students are encouraged to wear their favourite sports jersey or a colourful mufti outfit. Our students have raised over $100 for children with cancer.... Well done, Karonga students!

24.01.2022 Last week our signing choir performed at The Epping Club for their annual Seniors Morning Tea. Our students were excellently behaved and performed beautifully. All donations from the morning tea have been donated to Karonga, and Judy Nunn, the actor and author, also donated her speaker's fee to our school.

20.01.2022 After a very long COVID-related break, our students are so happy to be doing music therapy again! A big welcome to the lovely Jack who is working with our students and their musical talents.

20.01.2022 Yesterday our students enjoyed an incursion for NAIDOC Week. Our students carefully listened to Aboriginal stories, inspected artefacts, and even threw a form of spear! What a wonderful way for our students to learn more about Aboriginal culture.

17.01.2022 Today Karonga School celebrates the life of Matilda Sanson. Matilda was a student at Karonga from 2017 to 2021. She loved coming to school and engaged in all activities with an infectious enthusiasm. Matilda was a very determined young lady who worked hard despite her ever-changing physical disabilities. We will all miss Matilda and her beautiful smile, but know she is with us always.

05.01.2022 Yesterday was Karonga's first virtual assembly. Each class virtually joined the assembly via their classroom's interactive whiteboard. Our staff have been determined to continue celebrating our students' achievements while still respecting social distancing policies. Well done to all our students who sat so patiently during the assembly.

04.01.2022 On Wednesday, our students virtually participated in National Simultaneous Storytime with thousands of other school students. The book for this year was "Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas" by Lucinda Gifford. Our students loved dressing in fabulous outfits, creating chicken diva artwork, and, of course, reading such a fun book.

02.01.2022 Our students are loving our great new playground. For quiet time, active movements, or socialising with peers, our new playground has just what we need!

01.01.2022 Earlier this year, Karonga was awarded a grant from The City of Parramatta's Cycling Schools 2020 Program. We have used this money to purchase a new BERG bike for our students. Many thanks to The City of Parramatta for their support!

01.01.2022 A big THANK YOU to The Epping Club who have so kindly donated brand new equipment for our courtyard. Our students LOVE the great new equipment and we look forward to using it for many years to come. A thank you as well to Moduplay Group for supplying and installing our equipment.

01.01.2022 A shout-out to Technology Core who, in 2019 and 2020, installed interactive whiteboards in all of our classrooms. Our students greatly benefit from this technology and we have seen an increase in engagement since the whiteboards were installed. Many thanks, Technology Core!
