Microneedling is a treatment procedure for the hands, which allows them to become tighter while displaying a texture which is smoother. The procedure is only moderately invasive and will be performed using a derma pen. The pen has needle tips which are sterile and exceptionally fine. They will be injected inside the skin vertically to produce punctures which are microscopic in the skin’s dermis layer. The technology is state of the art and is designed to minimize suction while not causing unnecessary skin damage. Rather than penetrating the skin with chemicals so that it can be repaired, the skin of the hands will be punctured with the needles, and then the body’s own healing factor will be activated so that a fresh skin matrix appears. The primary component of this matrix is collagen, which over time will make the skin of the hands appear tighter and more elastic. Benefits of Hand Microneedling One of the biggest benefits of hand microneedling is that it enters the dermis layer without adversely affecting the outer protective layer of the epidermis. The microneedling punctures are superficial, and as such will close rapidly which means the body won’t lose much water, nor do you have to worry about infection. The skin of the hands which are dry or thin will become thick as new collagen is added. This means that the positive results that you’ll experience are long rather than short term. This is because microneedling ingeniously harnesses the healing factor which the human body has naturally. Microneedling does require a number of sessions. Each session is about a 45 min to an hour in duration and recommend a gap of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments . The reason for this is because it gives the body sufficient time to produce fresh collagen and elastin while also producing a fresh skin layer to replace the previous one.
