25.01.2022 Good morning community, an update in regards to the upcoming madaraka Gala.

23.01.2022 Dear Kenyans The KASA Executive Management Team wishes to take this opportunity to thank you all for your proactive and collaborative compliance with the Government’s guidelines that have resulted in South Australia’s zero COVID-19 new cases over the last 25 days. Well done and let’s keep up that spirit!... We acknowledge that these are very tough times and some members of our community have been adversely impacted by this pandemic. It is delightful to note that the Government of South Australia is easing on restrictions signalling a gradual, albeit cautious return to normal life! BUT - We are still not out of the woods yet! Unfortunately the restrictions have resulted in a severe disruption to our planned community events. The management team however maintains the view that until such time the Government gives the all clear sign by lifting all restrictions, it may be risky to hold such events as the logistics of maintaining effective social distancing may be problematic to effectively implement and assure. The Executive Team will continue to monitor such guidelines from the Health authorities and optimistically look forward to a rapid return to normalcy to enable hosting of forthcoming scheduled activities such as the AGM, students forums and the popular Jamhuri family day celebrations. In the meantime, we would like to encourage you to have get togethers with close friends and families and strictly observe the maximum *20* attendees as per the current eased government’s guidelines. You are in our thoughts and prayers and please feel free to contact us via the KASA mobile (0415 791 228) or email ([email protected]). Please continue to take care of yourselves your families and stay safe. KASA Executive Management Team

23.01.2022 Dear Kenyans The office of the Immigration Attache in Canberra would like to know if there are any Kenyans who are visiting South Australia and their time to leave has come or if there are those who were scheduled to leave but are unable to travel back home because of the restrictions as a result of Covid-19. If anyone is facing these challenges and they need assistance, please contact KASA so we can in turn inform Canberra on your behalf... KASA Executive

19.01.2022 Dear Kenyans, As we face these tough and uncertain times, I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the healthcare professionals in our community and Australia wide for their dedicated services amidst the danger they are putting themselves in to care for all of us. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them. Additionally, Let’s all continue to heed the Government’s directive of social distancing and staying home. 15.01.2022 Historically, a lot of things happened around the world in 1963. For us of Kenyan heritage, it was gaining independent self-rule from the British colony on this *Madaraka Day, 1st of June, 1963*, which would later become full independence. We hope you have had a reflective Day today.
