25.01.2022 Have you ever stopped to wonder if all the emotions you feel and process are even yours? Lately so many of my clients seem to have one thing in common, they are really being affected by the emotions of other people! I’m not talking about being affected by the expression of emotion, or by the behaviour of another person (although that’s no fun either) - I’m talking about those of us who have a long-standing habit of actually taking on and experiencing the feelings of those ar...ound us. It’s called being an Empath, and a lot of people don’t even know they’re doing it. And many who do realise it’s happening have no idea how to stop it! Some clues that you might be an empath are: You feel unusually drained after attending shopping centres or large gatherings, even if you haven’t really spoken to anyone there You are hyper aware of how others are feeling and you can’t feel good while someone nearby feels bad You often can’t tell if the discomfort you are feeling belongs to you or someone else If this sounds like you, it might feel really overwhelming. The good news is that it is possible to become an Empowered Empath with the ability to choose when and how you open yourself up to this particular gift. The more you learn about yourself and the more often you stand in your own power, the easier it becomes, until one day you’ll realise that being an Empath is no longer difficult, it’s simply a valuable skill that you have honed. 15.01.2022 Ooh! This gave me some answers so I had to share. For the last few weeks I have needed to be quiet and practice extra self-care, and perhaps this eclipse season had something to do with it. Finding the balance between self-care and care for others can be tricky, but I do tend to listen to my body and follow what it needs. Only problem is that sometimes I feel guilty or criticise myself along the way. ... Is nice to know that there might be a reason I have been reaching for extra rest lately. Just because we humans ARE exceptional problem solvers, doesn’t mean we always HAVE to be. We each have an infinite non-physical support team: God, Goddess, Universe, Source, Angels, Guides, Enlightened Masters, Loved Ones - the list goes on and on - who are so smart, so powerful, and they can actually see the bigger picture! ... 07.01.2022 Would you like to know the one question that I ask all of my clients, at every single appointment? Do you meditate? And invariably the answer comes back ... Oh, I know that I should... They probably think I sound like a broken record, but honestly, I believe that meditation is a requirement for humans. Meditation is the solution to every problem. I’d go so far as to say that if everyone could just quiet their mind for a few minutes each morning, I would be out of a job. Or I’d have a different job (maybe teaching meditation). It doesn’t have to be difficult, and you don’t have to be ‘good at it’. And I promise you that the benefits outweigh the cost. Set your alarm a bit earlier (I like an hour, but 5 minutes works too) Stay in bed, or get up, whatever you prefer. Wee first if you need to Choose some music, a guided meditation on YouTube, or find an app with relaxing sounds. Or listen to a sound you can hear (the fan, birds, traffic...) You might like to set a timer. Again, 5 minutes is enough Give yourself just a few minutes, focus on whatever it is you’ve chosen to focus on. Repeat a mantra, or notice your breath, or imagine white light pouring down from above. Or simply do nothing. And that’s it, you’re done. Congratulate yourself on an awesome meditation (because if you tried, then you succeeded, there’s no wrong way to meditate) Give it a try. 05.01.2022 It seems to me that forgiveness, for most people is a life long process. It certainly is for me. And it’s definitely not easy.... Even when I really want to forgive, and I know it will be to my benefit, sometimes I just don’t know how. This morning I came across a clip of Marianne Williamson saying that the way to forgive, is to pray for the other person. For 30 days pray for that person, and you open yourself up to miracles.
