25.01.2022 Taking a quick break from writing to visit some of my favourite places in Melbourne, the Collingwood Children’s Farm and the Yarra River.

21.01.2022 Looking forward to a jam-packed week visiting ECMS kinders to interview educators for ECMS’ Annual Report. Excited to see Brookside Preschool’s amazing indigenous inspired mural, part of their reconciliation project.

21.01.2022 Merry Christmas to you! Thanks to everyone who’s supported me and my business this year. I couldn't have done it without you! I've loved working with so many incredible clients from Australia, China and the US in 2019. I'm excited to continue to support many of you in 2020 and to help many more businesses grow.... Have a safe, happy holiday season

20.01.2022 Last week I visited Delta Road Preschool in Watsonia to shoot a video on the wonderful bird project the kinder worked on last year for ECMS’ Annual Report. Check out this fantastic mural created by a local artist with help from the children. I’ll share more about the project once the Annual Report’s finished.

19.01.2022 Take a look at this article I wrote for Open Journey a while back on the burnout generation. It looks at the high proportion of people in their 20s and 30s suffering stress, anxiety and depression due to their unsustainably busy lives. I’m sure many of you can relate! http://ow.ly/r39030iDl0y

16.01.2022 Loving my new local, @dukeofkerr. Delicious coffee and the perfect place to perch myself for a morning of writing. Check it out if you’re ever in Fitzroy.

13.01.2022 Here are three effective ways to build trust through copywriting. 1. Know your audience. Take the time to understand your audience demographics, values, desires, pain points, etc. Then, show them how you can ease their frustrations through your products or services. 2. Use a conversational tone. People connect with brands that not only understand their needs, but that speak like a human. This means, using simple language, writing in the first person, and so on. ... 3. Establish yourself as an authority. You can do this by using customer/client testimonials, case studies, and relevant data, statistics and expert quotes in your copy. How do you build trust and credibility through your copywriting? 12.01.2022 What has helped your business grow this year? These four things have been key for me. 1. Constantly learning... I'm forever listening to great business and copywriting podcasts, reading business blogs, doing online courses, and checking in with my copywriting mentoring group. 2. Building an effective website (and learning about SEO) So many of my amazing clients find me via Google. Without my website, there's no way I'd be where I am today. 3. Streamlining and automating I've found some excellent online software to manage accounting, projects, design, and so on. These tools save me so much time and make my business a whole lot more professional. I've also developed systems, processes and templates to manage practically everything in my business. 4. Finding a like-minded community I'm part of some wonderful copywriting and business groups on Facebook. These are full of supportive and talented business owners. See more

08.01.2022 Enjoyed the Triennial exhibition at the NGV. One of the best I’ve been to. Have you been? What did you think?

07.01.2022 Take me back to The Haven in Red Hill, the perfect spot for a little writing. Highly recommend it if you’re ever looking for somewhere to stay on the Mornington Peninsula.

06.01.2022 Reminiscing about an amazing trip to Italy this time last year while planning the next getaway in September. Where’s your next holiday destination?

06.01.2022 As a busy business owner juggling many hats, do you feel like it’s impossible to keep your website up to date? I hear you But I also know what a credibility killer an outdated or broken website can be for your business.... In fact, did you know 59%* of customers would be reluctant to work with a business if their website wasn't up to date? Pretty compelling evidence if you ask me So, if your website is in desperate need of some loving, here are must-haves to add to your audit checklist: Test your search function and contact form. Check for 404 errors and broken links (there are heaps of handy online tools for this). Remove old, unused or unnecessary plugins, resources or pages. Ensure all pages have unique title tags, meta descriptions (ideally, SEO optimised) and images alt tags (free SEO audit tools will tell you if you're missing any of these). Check your content and images are still correct, relevant, compelling and on-brand. Add any new customer/client testimonials or reviews, case studies or projects to showcase your work and boost your credibility. If you have any other website audit tips, share them below! 05.01.2022 Thrilled to see the copy I wrote for Blue Illusion's autumn catalogue come to life. The range was shot at the beautiful Château de Fère in France.

04.01.2022 If you’re thinking about getting a mortgage anytime soon, check out this blog I wrote for Mel Finance recently on the different types of home loans available in Australia. http://ow.ly/nSYD30iDoRk

03.01.2022 I’m very excited to be visiting this gorgeous pup, Billy, again tomorrow to shoot a special video for the ECMS Annual Report. Billy is a therapy dog at Cambrian Preschool in Melton. Since Billy joined the kinder program last year, educators have seen huge improvements in children’s learning and development. I look forward to sharing more about Billy once the project’s finished.
