25.01.2022 t's so refreshing to see that our meal company Be Fit Food review has been put into the right context by the Herald Sunreporter for the Body and Soul magazine as the ''Goal Keeper'' as our brand vision is to help ''Australian's Eat Themselves Better''. Our philosophy is that ''Food is the First Medicine'' as our founders are doctors and dietitians. I am proud of our entire team, and especially our marketing team for living our vision loud and clear so that we are no longer mi...staken for ''just another home delivered meals company'' with our scientific approach to health change and the incredible side effects of body fat loss. We pride ourselves in our individualized approach to ensure optimal health and nutritional status can be achieved by everyone, even those with more complex dietary needs as in all honesty, we are all complex in our preferences, tastes and body physiology. https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au//dfc274ae01fd5c1c53d146b2af See more

24.01.2022 How do your energy levels feel lately? Have they plummeted with the added stress or uncertainty of the current CoVid-19 situation or have you managed to stay positive and focus on what you can control in your life? Unfortunately no individual alone has the power to change or control the current situation but what we do have is the power to improve our own health. We can start by focusing on what we eat and making sure we get a well-balanced diet loaded with plant based food...s. We can also make an effort to move more, even if this just means walking to the other end of the house or into our backyard.....or doing some squats, lunges, push-ups and sit-ups whilst locked indoors. If your energy is still feeling low, and you are getting plenty of sleep and exercise then perhaps your should check your iron levels. Check out my article below to find out how to improve your energy and re-charge your bodies iron stores. Lastly, if you don't want to cook, then try our home delivered meal programs for either rapid weight loss or healthy eating throughout Australia at Be Fit Food. https://lnkd.in/ghy37Dj #energy #nutrition #health

23.01.2022 Do what matters most first....and repeat daily! You can only find your core focus in life and business once you look inside yourself and find what brings you joy . However, you can only find joy when you are practicing self care. This comes in many forms, and I a or a day spa however nothing can replace the energy that comes from daily exercise . Here’s 3 reasons why movement matters most; 1) It regenerates a tired brain and even can create new brain cells by the production of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor), known as neurogenesis, 2) it produces endorphins that make us feel happier , 3) It promotes longevity so that one day we can live to actually enjoy everything we work so hard for! #movementismedicine #dowhatyoulove

23.01.2022 As a Mum and CEO @befitfoodaustralia people often ask me how I find time to stay healthy given that the balance between family life and work is already 2 x Full times jobs (and a juggle)..... For me, its simple, as I honestly don't give myself the choice because without my early morning exercise for 'me' time I am a terrible mother and boss too! I'm honored to have been interviewed by Body and Soul for their editorial series ''My Healthy Habits'' and share this space with inc...redible women like @jenhawkins_ , @BecJudd, Sjarna Elise Earp @sjanaelise and LauraMayGibbs founder of @nagnata_ who share their personal tips to deal with burnout. For anyone who knows me, I definitely not perfect when it comes to finding ''balance'' as I always refer to it as a pendulum flying from one side to the other (thanks for the analogy @janine_allis ) however, as a Dietitian and Exercise physiologist the scientific evidence for daily movement and nutrition is so strong that its always top of mind for me. Check out my tips and tricks below in @Body+Soul for keeping well; https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au//my-healthy-hab/news.com.au

23.01.2022 Are you looking for a new super-food that you can add to your diet which has the power to improve Diabetes management, reduce the risk of Cardiovascular Disease including improving blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides plus it also has gut-health benefits? Try Lupin.....it is a part of the pulse family and a fantastic source of protein, dietary fibre and anti-oxidants. Although a very small percentage of the popular should be aware when trying lupin if they have a ...peanut allergy as Lupin has a protein that can trigger a similar allergic reaction. For everyone else, you can try adding this super-food to your baking in the form of lupin flour or even cook up the kernels and use it to lower the carbs and increase the protein in a rice-based meal. See my article below for more info about this incredible pulse and try our new Lupin Cookies from Be Fit Food which are now available for home delivery Australia-Wide in Choc-Coconut, Ginger and Date, or Apricot and Coconut. www.befitfood.com.au #befitfoodaustralia https://www.onyamagazine.com//why-you-should-love-your-lu/

22.01.2022 We can’t underestimate the power of the mind...ever wondered why when you think you’re having a bad day, nothing goes right? Try to flip it! Reset your mind however you know how, and restart you day the way you want it to go, no matter how many hours left. I reset so many different ways; a run or workout , a walk in the fresh air or a dip in cold water, some deep breathes or a phone call with someone who is a good listener . Make a healthy mental resolution for yourself to live your best moments every day as our lives are just a sequence of these moments in time. A moto I live by is that ‘if you think you can, you will’. #positivethinking #resetyourmindset #becauseyoucan #loveyourlifeliveyourtruth

21.01.2022 This set the tone for my day and hopefully everyday hereafter’s as like most of us, I’m always looking for what’s next, and how to do it all bigger, better, faster, harder but today I think I’ll just be. Thanks for inspo #repost @jonocastanoacero

20.01.2022 The best part about holidays is downtime with the family....there’s nothing more special than in PJs before bedtime followed by snuggles . As a parent, the only thing that truly matters and brings life long happiness with unconditional love is our kids. #pause #reflecting #familyiseverything

18.01.2022 Sometimes we all need a reset to wash away the week....they say saltwater is good for everything right? It’s only 3 degrees this morning in Safety Beach and a quick unplanned dip certainly did the trick for me. #reset #saltwaterswim #crazyfun

18.01.2022 Every few months my brain starts keeping me up at night, my heart rate starts to rise before I wake up in the morning, my mood becomes more tense and my positivity dial shifts somewhere back from my usual . I don’t think I’m broken, I just need to be reset again like a clock and the best way for me is a cold swim . So what’s so good about it? 1) boosts white blood cell count for immunity 2) releases endorphins as it brings us close to our pain barrier and helps improve our mood 3) improves circulation 4) improves libido too apparently 5) it reduces stress by putting a physical and mental stress on the body which calms us #trysomethingnew #endorphinsmakeyouhappy #justbecauseyoucan

18.01.2022 Do you often get surprised when you gut feeling is actually right about something despite the fact that your forebrain has tried to override its decision with common sense or logic? Well then you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that our gut contains almost as many neurons as our brain, and it’s also commonly known as our second brain. So how can what you eat affect your brain? It’s simple really, everything we eat passes through our gut and signals are directed up to our br...ains therefore we literally are the outcome of what we eat. You can change your mood, even permanently by improving brain chemical levels to encourage more ‘happy hormone’ production by eating the right diet for brain health. My fav book on this is by @proffelicejacka and I would highly recommend you read it cover to cover, or download the audiobook. I’ve also had an interview with @carouselworld if you just want a quick summary about my take home messages for a healthy diet for brain health in the link below https://thecarousel.com//dietitian-kate-save-explains-the/ See more

13.01.2022 Sometimes when you’ve heard that ‘you can’t’ or that it’s ‘impossible’ enough you start to believe it....fortunately i’d rather let people think I’m F$&@)$g crazy than to listen to them. This might not always win you friends or followers as people call you a ‘dreamer’ and believe that you live with your head in the clouds , or that you are just plain arrogant as you don’t listen to anyone. Well I’m hear to speak from my own experience that the minute you start to let your... guard down and let these thoughts in that they can rapidly shift your direction. Avoid letting your fear of failure deter you from seeking out your goals. Don’t let someone else’s deflated vision for you taint your vision as this will quickly shift your dreams to create a negative momentum! My 3 key tips - 1) NEVER overthink advice from others because they are NOT standing in your shoes and they never will be, so if it doesn’t sound right, it’s not. 2) If you start to question your own ability, you need to leave your present company (friends/colleagues) and surround yourself with people who fill your cup rather than those who empty it. 3) There is nothing that someone can do better than you if you put in the same amount of work and effort as we are all capable of learning, improving and being the best we can be, we may just have some more work to do to get there, but you will! 11.01.2022 How are you feeling about Co-Vid Lockdown in Victoria 2nd time around? What lessons did you learn from last time about looking after your health, both physical and mental? I know like most people I was guilty of more snacking, treat foods and even more wine too but fortunately I managed to keep up the exercise not to gain those dreaded Co-Vid Kilos (and it helps I work Be Fit Food).... Here's a great story from a magazine editor from Manspace who wanted to try doing the 2nd L...ockdown better to avoid the Co-Vid kilo's and I'm so pleased he did....he lost 4.3kg in just 14 days with just a few tips and tricks that I gave him about eating right below; #covidkilos #health #eatwell #iso #befitfoodaustralia http://www.manspacemagazine.com.au/kickstart-your-metaboli/ See more

11.01.2022 Are you sick of fad diets and super-foods becoming the most common headline for how you can ''better yourself'' and are you sick of all the diet jargon? Here's my lowdown of what I think of the top 7 diet trends for 2020 in Body and Soul today; https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au//7d8d4b8cb01ecf0a046b72d2c8 Be Fit Food

10.01.2022 How you are you coping during this pandemic? I think everyone's mental health has probably taking a fair beating over the previous months, or perhaps the whole of 2020 will be a challenge for us all? Did you know that exercise is the key to managing stress and depression as it stimulates neurogenesis (the growth of new brain cells) and neuroplasticity (repair/re-modelling of brain cells). Why is this essential? ... Stress can actually damage the brain (cause shrinkage of the hippocampus - memory centre in the brain). So use today, or everyday as an opportunity to move more, just 3 hours per week is enough to make a difference to your mental health. Lastly, don't forget about the power of food as the first medicine.... I'd love to share my tips with you about how you can improve your diet to help support your mental health in my article @shesocietyau called FOOD and MOOD - The Link Between Diet and Mental Health. @befitfoodaustralia @ppndietitian #mentalhealth #foodasmedicine

08.01.2022 How will you remember lockdown? 6 weeks nearly complete and I don’t deny that it’s been grueling everyday without the support of family, friends, school teachers and work colleagues in the flesh, I’m an extrovert and usually recharge around others! This week I’ve decided to take the learnings and make this last 2 weeks as something positive overall. Here’s where I’ll start and would love to know what you learnt as I’m sure I could do it better next time (please never though!...); 1) healthy grazing platters everyday (sometimes paired with after 5pm did the antioxidants of-course) , 2) all homeschool parents deserve a week off parenting (not sure how this would work, but our kids all owe us a granny-flat instead of aged-care facility when we are old and grey), 3) active-wear must not have a tight waist band (used primarily as ‘in-active wear’ and much more comfortable with thick waist band), 4) saved $$$ not buying any cosmetics or hair products (skin actually improved and hair more shiny and less damaged too), 5) I chose my husband well (survived the weekdays and weekends doing both the parenting, socializing and home-school/work-life together), 6) blessed to have 2 daughters who love homeschool (they were so independent and dedicated to learning - not saying it was easy but they did concentrate in short bursts). #grateful #learningeveryday #goodbyelockdown See more

06.01.2022 This week marks 3 years since one of the biggest landmarks in my life (excluding the birth of my 2 beautiful daughters Chloe and Mia who are 6 and 7 years old)......as Sharktank aired on Australian TV and Be Fit Food grew 1500% overnight and went from 5 to 63 staff in 4 weeks. Previously I had worked as a dietitian/exercise physiologist/diabetes educator for over a decade when I recognized we were setting patients up for failure by offering them bariatric (weight loss) surger...y without essential nutrition education. The gold standard for rapid weight loss previously was synthetic bars/shakes diets where people could lose between 5-25kg in 2-8 weeks. They were used specifically pre-bariatric surgery to shrink the liver. What my team of dietitians at PPN observed was that people often lost so much weight pre-surgically that they didn't always want to go ahead with the surgery as they felt in control again. But slowly, after they stopped these bar/shake diets they experienced weight re-gain as they didn't have the tools/education they needed for successful long-term weight loss. So Dr Geoffrey Draper (bariatric surgeon) and I created BE FIT FOOD - a scientifically formulated, REAL FOOD, rapid weight-loss program for home delivery Australia-wide. https://youtu.be/UWNBeiJGN_M See more

06.01.2022 Wet weather is perfect for a great movie @villagecinemas , big , indoor playtime plus an early dinner @berettas_langwarrin . I hope their childhood feels like a lifetime as I definitely remember wanting to get older (and taller, well that never happened ...) and now I just want time to stop so we can stay in this moment forever . Finding work-life balance doesn’t really exist for me on a daily or even weekly basis, however, I believe it’s a pendulum and I’m ...always swinging in opposite directions at lightning speed. There’s always some guilt being a working parent but we are creating lasting memories of an action-packed adventure which we will one day hopefully reflect on as an exhilarating life.... Live every moment to the fullest, and enjoy the ride as the destination is the same for everyone and hopefully one day you’ll smile thinking ‘I did it all and have no regrets!’ See more

05.01.2022 Sharing something really impactful I heard today..... I stumbled upon @robynsroom_ as my kids adore craft and Robyn told me her story. She founded her business after years of being an art teacher however she started to feel sad over the years when more and more children would tell her they didn’t like art. Robyn got emotional explaining to me how she couldn’t understand the pressure our culture/curriculum puts on kids these days. She believes art is an expression of the i...magination and that to ‘not’ enjoy art as a kid means not feeling confident to express themselves without pressure or judgement (this is how I understood it anyway). It made me sad to think that one day their art will only be to impress others, to be ‘scored’ and to ‘achieve a standard’ rather than just to be themselves. I’m definitely not ‘arty’ myself however my girls LOVE arts and craft and this really resonated with me as a parent. I was so impressed with her hands-off approach as she just encourages and supports them to create anything they want. It really felt like a life lesson today as I’d never thought of it this way but now I’ll be so protective of this to ensure their imaginations are not taken away. #liveyourbestlife #noscores #daretodream #becauseyoucan See more

05.01.2022 I can't believe it was 2 years ago when I was on The Today Show Extra talking about how Be Fit Food can help Australians ''Eat Themselves Better''......looking forward to finally being out of lockdown soon in Victoria and getting back into the studio soon! Thanks again Ash Williams for supporting us at Be Fit Food too!

01.01.2022 The launch of the collaboration with the CSIRO and Be Fit Food last week has allowed us to finally achieve the brand awareness with the medical professionals, doctors and dietitians all across Australia that we stand for ''Food as the First Medicine'' rather than purely ''convenience'' or ''just another diet''. It is refreshing to see the Australian health community supporting us in this initiative as we can live our dream to ''Help Australians Eat Themselves Better''. We ...all strive to eat a healthier diet but it is true that our time is is our biggest limitation when it comes to making the best nutritional choices at meal times. By working with the CSIRO, we can finally bring the science into Australian households by providing the exact meals that we know can improve blood sugar levels, diabetes management, reduce reliance on medications and achieve successful weight loss too. https://eativitynews.com/the-meal-deal-weight-loss-at-the-/ See more
