I’m SO excited to share all these amazing images with you by @lostinlove_photography First up, our farewell dinner party on our last night together in Byron Bay at @the_bower_byron_bay My absolute favourite combination is incorporating the old and the new + a natural garden feel with a touch of tropical. ... When I booked The Bower for the retreat over a year ago, I had just that in mind. The Bower itself has a mix of old and new buildings and elements throughout + as you can see, lots of tropicals, so I wanted to take inspiration from this into our overall concept. 21.01.2022 For when your candles are off duty (or all your 2020 events are postponed). Our @ohflorastore Nilaveli Candle Holder holding pretty things. As a florist and designer myself, I know how expensive it can be to start, grow and successfully run a business that requires physical inventory and a variety of appealing pieces to wow clients and create beautiful imagery to help secure the next ones.... I also well and truly understand what its like to work from home with very limited space to store your things, live without a shed or garage and just try to keep everything organised! This is something I come back to when I design new pieces: is it possible to make this piece multipurpose? Does it need slight adjustments to make it so? With the Nilaveli Holder, I deliberately designed it to be the size it is and to have a shallow candle hole so that it can: hold a dinner candle, a small pillar candle, jewels and trinkets, salt, pepper & condiments, used with a floral pin to hold stationery and shelves photos and anything else you can dream up! 20.01.2022 Thinking of pretty much everyone and everywhere right now but especially Sri Lanka and its beautiful people For anyone whos new around here, our gorgeous @ohflorastore vessels are designed here by us in Australia and ethically handmade in Sri Lanka by a wonderful family company. Theres around 80 employees of which over half are very talented and skilled women a portion of each sale through the @ohflorastore goes toward @kindheartedlankans to help Sri Lankans in nee...d. This was from our second trip to the island nation, collecting flowers from a roadside market for an Instagram Live; an arrangement made in a traditional pot used for cooking. Did you catch this Live by the ocean a bit over a year ago?

If youre visiting Byron, you have to stop in and visit Jess & her team at Poppy & Fern at @thefarmatbyronbay (and definitely stay for lunch). All the flowers they sell in their shop are grown right here in these fields. Jess will be supplying some of our flowers the Oh Flora Retreat held in April 2021 here in Byron Bay + we have a could of other surprise treats lined up! ... 18.01.2022 COLOUR POP OR NO POP? Forever the question on my mind and honestly my heart almost always goes toward colour popping but here Im torn. WHICH IS YOUR FAV? ... (This background is canvas with watered down acrylics, painted by Oh Flora - great for lightweight, transportable styling)

16.01.2022 Incase you missed it over on @ohflorastore (be sure to follow because more videos coming there too!) This is one of my favourite designs to make Im using the Vila Dish & @floralgeniusig hair pin frog + a dome of chicken. This is fast becoming one of my favourite mechanics to use. Quality vessels and flower frogs are really worth the investment! If youre designing for weddings and events just be sure to clearly communicate to your clients (written and spoke ) theses pieces are special to you and are not for the taking at the end of the night. For me, I prefer to always do bump out when using lots of expensive and must-keep-forever vessels and pieces to ensure they safely return to my studio.

16.01.2022 One year ago at the fabulous Hôtel de Caumont, Aix-en-Provence We might be a little way off travels but lets try to bring these magical, romantic and absolutely inspiring vibes to our homes with music, creation, food & the spring sunshine with our loved ones This trip was extremely difficult for me, although I had an amazing time experiencing France, it was hard.... At the time I was there for work (I was heading to teach a workshop in Paris), my dad was very sick and i knew it was bad but I didnt realise how bad. I had no idea by the time I got back (only 12 days later) that he wouldnt be able to talk or hardly communicate with me. (I didnt know that was the reality of terminal cancer, I had no idea). The guilt was real while I was there in France and much more so when I returned and the reality of the situation really hit me. He passed away just 5 days after I got home. And then 2 days later I went into teaching our Oh Flora Retreat in Byron for four days. I really have no idea how I got through that. The strength that comes through when you really need it, I believe is not from this world. Its so much higher The guilt is still there and Im definitely not telling you this for sympathy. Im honestly not sure why Im telling you this, but that is my story. I guess it just that every time I look at and love these memories, theres a connection of how I was half there and half here. A weird feeling of inspiration and guilt Ive never felt at other times in my life. I feel a little strange sharing this with you so Im just going to press pause and share now I hope it doesnt make you sad but tells you youll be able to take on anything

15.01.2022 This September were heading back to #byronbay for another Oh Flora Retreat (our one and only workshop/retreat for 2020). AND THERES ONLY A FEW PLACES LEFT! So far, as were all experiencing right now, its been a tough year! And although we are certainly not out of the woods yet, we are looking at going ahead with our original date of the 7-10 Sept (provided its safe to do so + can I just say how proud of am of Aussies STAYING HOME ). We are SO looking forward to ho...sting a small group of attendees over 3 nights and 4 days of floral and business bliss at this all inclusive retreat. 12.01.2022 Almost two years on and so far, so good... I still wouldnt change a thing of this pastel summery dreaminess we designed for our winter Byron Bay wedding... it was 24 degrees (c) - If your overseas destination wedding plans have changed (or your honeymoon plans for that matter), consider Byron Bay or Far North or South East Queensland for an Australian destination wedding. These are perfect locations for a forced holiday for you and your guests to escape the cold/citie...s/craziness of life. These beautiful areas are still so close to home, cheaper for your guests to travel and still ive you that afar, nostalgic, good vines and romantic vacation feeling! Oh while youre at it, do what we did and hire a big house for a week to spend the lead up to the day relaxing with your nearest and dearest. It was truly a special week, one we will always remember. 11.01.2022 I’ve never been one to choose a specific style / palette for my work that I keep coming back to. I choose flowers, colours and props that I immediately feel something for the second I see them. I’ve learnt to really trust myself with this... and it *generally* works out. One second it’ll be ruffled pastels and off white silk and the next it’s pink gingham and purple gladiolus Sometimes it turns out uuuugllly and I will make physical and mental notes on why I think ...that is (more practical things like colour theory). There are a few things I put together but won’t share.. their ugliness is just me for it’s about the practice and the process that makes you better. This is designed in our Rosé Oh Flora Compote. 07.01.2022 So you guys, after a couple of days of researching how to upload this video without it cropping the sides, my friend informed that it was just the cover that would be cropped and I thought I was down with the cool kids... and then I just said that ... lets just get to the tutorial part already! - So, this is a sweet little DYI project perfect for all occasions, especially the upcoming special event of Mothers Day & zoom party DIY during this crazy time we... are calling life. I personally think this should be a homeschooling lesson; horticulture, art, design... oh so many topics covered! I actually break quite a few of my usual arranging rules here because we are designing straight into a glass within no foundation/wire/frog, so things need to be done a little differently.
