05.01.2022 You might have seen lots about COVID19 (Corona Virus) on the news or on the internet. As of today, there are no cases of COVID19 in the Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) Communities. This may change over the coming weeks.... If you catch the COVID 19 virus, most people will just be a little bit sick with a runny nose, cough or a sore throat. Not everyone that gets COVID 19 will get a fever. People that are older, smokers or those who have chronic disease like diabetes, heart problems, lung sickness or kidney disease who catch the Covid19 virus can get biggest mob sick with a biggest mob bad cold and might have to go to hospital. Some of these people may pass away from this sickness. Katherine West Heath Board is yarning every day with the Northern Territory Government about COVID- 19 and we have plans in place for when COVID-19 sickness comes to our communities. KWHB is screening anyone we are wanting to send to our communities for travel and sickness. We are cancelling the travel of any of our staff or service providers that have been overseas or are sick until we can be sure they are safe to travel. The best way to stop the spread of germs like the COVID 19 by -Washing your hands with soap, -If you are sick, stay home away from other people -Cough into your elbow or a tissue, put your tissue straight into the bin and then wash your hands - Try to keep your hands away from your face. - Don’t share drinks or smokes. If you have any worries yarn with your local Health Centre staff We will put updates our Facebook page and Instagram page Other places to get up to date information is https://www.facebook.com/secureNT/ https://securent.nt.gov.au/ale/coronavirus-covid-19-updates Stay tuned for more KWHB updates . #oneshieldforall #flattenthecurve #covid19 #coronavirus
