20.01.2022 When a leaf falls that shift in mood from turbulence to stillness... can you feel it? when a leaf falls and the aria of sounds too silent for human ears is all encompassing I step into that place with you my love and part of me is terrified for lack of knowing but I breathe on with the certainty that there is no turning back and that each leaf that falls is a silent utterance in our story I wrote this poem many years ago and I'm feeling its resonance in an entirely different way, which is a delight... and thank you for the birthday wishes... I was in Ubud on the final night of a divine week of embodiment, yoga, authentic movement, writing (with the magical Jane Cornes) , voice work, mantra singing bliss... love and radiance Kathryn xx

19.01.2022 Pilgrimage Uluru undulates ancestral rock dreaming scriptures for ceremony carved in deep caves... tufts of spinifex on soft ochre sands Jack climbs the rock innocent of his trespass he whistles and sings echoing his great joy across the empty sky he descends as an ant metamorphosing into human form jeans shredded chest expanded with accomplishment at the 5 star resort indigenous women work the cash registers and deliver lattes giggling sweetly in their stiff uniforms at night we stroll through the field of light with bus loads of tourists from all over the world 50,000 stems of light glittering across the desert beneath an ocean of stars in the morning a circle of indigenous women slumped in sunshine play cards and laugh with tender brokenness we stop for petrol en route to Alice Springs I buy a painting from a woman named Beryl her flinty voice whispers fordy fordy I give her fifty she points to a shop asks me to buy her some beer beer I tell her I can’t she accepts with poignant smile she looks out at the dream of the desert the gaze of surrender etched in her face in the heat of the day on the car radio we learn of Doctor G’s passing in a Darwin hospital he was 46 I pick a bouquet of wattle and grevillea a humble offering to his artistry his high tenor voice a gift from the stars I place the flowers on the dash of the car we are born to die and die to be born praying for the return of love See more
