22.01.2022 Lets paint together. In these stressful times its nice to have something that can bring you back to the present moment. Creating art is quite a healing process. It doesnt matter what you do. Its in the creating that you can forget your troubles for a while. A few years ago, it got me though some awful grief and a feeling of not wanting to be here anymore.I created every day. I had my easel, paints and water ready to go.... While we are all at home now, I would like to offer some online real time painting classes for fun and healing. From anywhere in the world. Starting soon, Id like to invite you to join me and paint with me. Or you can just watch, as what I do will be recorded for you to go back to anytime. We can share our time together over zoom a video platform like Skype. As a community we can come together and be creative and have fun. It will be fun abstract creative expression. 05.01.2022 How I create... For me, I believe being creative heals. I work intuitively with colour and texture. At first, Its a process of letting it all flow, and I disregard the rules. Painting brings me back to the present moment and everything else falls away and I feel content. Which to me is healing and surrender.... I let go of judgment and get into wonder and playfulness of it all on canvas. I usually work alone and with some of the old music playing, time stands still. I have a space ready to paint, water and brushes ready. In the process of painting, I have set myself free and raised some good energy. Which then, of course, brings more feel-good energy and is within each painting. I paint intuitively, by letting the painting present itself in the brush strokes and marks I make on the canvas. Looking at the shapes, colours and lines to determine what the painting will be. I never know what is going to come out! The quirky village series paintings came about from seeing the houses in my brush strokes. They tell a story. Now also loving the abstract flow in mixed media pieces. I work in various mediums, mixed media, acrylic, torn paper collage, pastel and inks. I was trained at TAFE an in art and design, also, in floristry. I facilitate intuitive art and creative expression workshops at the Ellis House Art Centre and online.
